    Default Pregnancy after MC

    Hey Guys,
In Feb 2010 I went from my 12 wks scan and was told me baby appeared to stop growing at 6.5 wks.
Since then we have been TTC.
This month we recieved a BFP!! Woohoo....yes I am excited though extremely nervous. How am I meant to deal with these nerves? I would like to hear about others stories to give me hope to know it is going to be okay??

Hey you should come over to the pg aftercmc thread in the support section- lots of wonderful ladies all at different stages along after one or multiple mc!

Congrats on your bfp!! I had a missed mc last October (went in for 9 week scan found out bub hadn't made it past 6 weeks) and now I'm 23w3d along in a complication free pregnancy!

Congratulations on your BFP!! It's so exciting isnt it?

You'll get through it, you just need to ensure you surround yourself with a lot of good support - partner, family, friends etc It'll be tough, you'll be a ball of nerves the first trimester, but you just gonna stay positive and lean on ppl...

I know how tough it is, I had two ectopics and an early miscarriage - when we finally got preggars I was so afraid of being happy just in case something happened... I remember going in for an early scan at 6 weeks, and I was SO TERRIFIED that I nearly vomited in the gyne's waiting room! But here I am, waiting to meet my little girl in just under 6 weeks!!

Just take it one day at a time - don't get too caught up in worry, coz first you'll worry about the 12 wk scan, then the 19 week scan etc It can be easy to just get so caught up in worrying that you forget the celebrating

Congrats again and good luck with the pregnancy!!

Congratulations! That is great news for you

I lost a bub mid 2009. Was discovered at the 12 week scan to be a blighted ovum. I didn't want to try until I felt ready, but by Christmas that year, we were expecting again. It can be really nerve wracking. I was so scared when I had another bleed, then had a scan and everything was OK. I had nightmares before the 12 week scan that the baby had died again, but he hadn't. I thought I relaxed after that, but didn't realise how tense I still was until 19 weeks when I felt those first movements. Then I really relaxed and felt I could bond and enjoy my pregnancy. I got scared again before the birth, but here we are nearly 12 months on and he is just the most wonderful little boy.

So you will be scared, but try not to let the fear and nerves get to you. Stress won't do you or bubs any good. Easier said than done though! I'm probably still going to be scared when we try for No 2 next year!

Good luck and try to enjoy the ride

I kwow exactly how you are feeling. I suffered a miscarriage at 18 weeks then the next pregnancy at 12 weeks. I am now 34 weeks pregnant and everything is going to plan.

Its so hard not to stress, and everyone telling you relax wont be helping! All i can say is surround yourself with love and support, no negativity and you will get through it.

Once you see that beating heart at 12 weeks and then start to feel movements all the heartache is worth it.

If you need to talk we are always here to listen. Sending you love and good wishes

    Default Thank you

Thanks so much guys for all your support and encouraging words.
It can be suffocating, I live and breathe the saying 'the universe will take its course and whatever happens happens.
I look forward to sharing those mini milestones with you all - first one being a dating scan in 2 weeks. (I don't need it, aware of my dates, though told me doctor I need it for peace of mind!)
It may sound strange, I wanna be sick and I want all the worst pregnancy symptoms just to know it's okay!
Would any one recommend getting regular HCG tests to monitor my levels?

It can be very nerve racking for the first 12-14 weeks, but you just try and think poistive. I would definately be getting your HCG levels checked every couple of days, if it means peace of mind

I had a miscarriage at 9.5 weeks in 2006, had a D&C, and was told not to conceive for 2mths. Exactly 4 weeks later I was pregnant with DD2. Other than a scare at 10.5 weeks I had a perfectly normal pregnancy.

So, there can definately be positives after a miscarriage.

    Good luck

Hcg levels are helpful up to a certain point, then they don't tell u much, but at this stage they could give u peace of mind..

And be careful what u wish for!! I was the same, I didn't have any morning sickness and was praying for pregnancy symptoms just so I'd FEEL pregnant then wham! I had terrible m/s, sore boobs, pregnancy ibs with diarrhea, migraines, fatigue, bloody gums, bleeding nose, aches, pains, cramps, twinges, and now really bad SPD

Keep thinking positive Hun, things will be fine
