I recommend asking your chemist, they have ointments that help to reduce the swelling while numbing the area. That with Panadol helped me

You could try Desitin.... it's a nappy rash cream which contains 40% zinc oxide. You can also use it for other stuff like chaffing etc so I find this is a good cream to keep around the house.

if you can still manage a bath a salt water bath really helps with the pain and swollen-ness. I live in salt water when i get them

a cream like proctosedyl or hemocane help too they have a numbing effect and help take the edge off the itch

some people dont get them in pregnancy but after pregnancy.
i got mine about 6 weeks after birth, i think it was from pushing in labour.
i used a cream from the chemist.
as you are having a c-section i imagine that you wouldnt develop more after your birth.

    good luck.

I too had no problems during pregnancy but blew one out while pushing It was immediately noticeable the first time I went to the loo. It didn't hurt or bleed..... just felt like I had a grape stuck there (sorry TMI ) Anyway my Ob prescribed Proctocedyl and it really helped. It took many months to go away and it still plays up from time to time. I'm expecting another serious blow out in November
