Hi cannotgiveup, unfortunately i too had a similar experience with Dr Sacks. My FS had referred me to him to get the NK tests done as i had had a number of m/c's and i was under the impression that Dr Sacks was an expert in this area and the guru on Nk cells....well we had 2 appointments with him (made the special trip to Sydney over 250km away each time), he did my biospy and a few weeks later sent a letter with the results. I had a few questions and i tried to see if i could arrange a phone consultation (offered to pay) for just 10 mins to talk over the results....he refused and said that i had to decide if i wanted to see him through his clinic to do ivf or stick with my current clinic closer to home. I was very dissapointed ...and came to the conclusion that he offers little patient care and maybe he didn't know the answers to my questions!! I was referred to him with specialist needs and he failed to offer the help i had paid for him.

I have been in this IVF game for 4 years now and seen a number of FS's at various clinics....unfortunately most of them are business men too and tend to see dollar signs above your head, there is a lot of competition out there between the clinics.

Anyway, that's the cynic in me!!!
After all that i'm still with my original FS at the same clinic. My advice, stick with where you are happy & comfortable with. Your current FS should be able to interpret the Nk results and prescribe prednisone if needed.
    Wishing you all the best

    Hi YinYang,

That’s exactly what happens to me. He wanted me to either make up my mind to be at he's clinic so that he can help or don’t bother asking further questions from him.

Even though, I have my BT results send to his office and confirmed with the nurses to ensure that they have received the test. He did not even bother to check the BT (on his desk ) that I have done and insist that I have some BT done again. I mentioned to him that I’ve just had them done 2 weeks prior to seeing him.

Starfish- I think he only care for patients that is directly under his care. But as an external patient I didn’t have that warm feeling that other ladies here is receiving.

Did anyone of you ladies consulted with Dr Sacks but still continue with your own clinic?

Rosewater, how did you go with Dr Sacks?
Hi Cannotgiveup - sorry you didnt get the treatment that you'd hoped for from Dr S I thought he was really thorough and helpful however I did choose to transfer my frozen embies from my old clinic to IVFA so perhaps he was a bit dofferent with me as he knew i was going to stay under his care. The appt was fine and he orderd me to get the NK cells blood test and immunology testing - which I will go to tomorrow. I did the NK test last week at St George public hospital and am just waiting for the results now...

I hope you have success with this cycle x

hi ladies just wanted to say my second meeting the Dr Sacks was better. I think this man takes awhile to get to know people and then he is better. He was smilling and kind for my EPU on yesterday. Maybe he is nice afterall.

    Default Dr Gavin Sacks

    Hi...
After 17 rounds of PGD IVF including 24 transfers 3 miscarriages (none past 10 weeks) over 5 years we went to Gavin Sacks ..We went onto the 'Bondi Protocol'... Round 18 we fell pregnant but had some serious medical issues with baby at around 16 weeks... We are now in round 19 and we are 31 weeks and expecting a beautiful baby girl in early December... So would we recommend Dr Gavin Sacks... Absolutely!
    Cheers JimmyH

Hello Ladies. I had one cycle with Dr sack and it was rather a deasapointment. He is very into "offering a different approach" but at the end it exactly the same to genea. They made me buy extra drugs and never used them. The result was poor quality and ofcause failure again , even worse than previous cycles. He is trying to be nice and caring but its all fake . Just do not be naive of something extraordinary. His team is unprofessional , everyone careless, Dr even didn't look at blood results , nurses making decisions. Just be mindfull of dealing with best sales people, they talk much and do nothing.
