    Default waking at night

My baby is 3 months old. Lately he is waking during the night every 3-4 hours, whereas before he would have a larger sleep at the start of the night (for around 5-7 hours) then wake every 3 hours after that.
He is a bit of a reflux baby and suffers from colic. I use infacol wind drops and he is only breastfed at this stage.

I'm wondering if you think its worth trying to induce a formula feed at around 7pm before going to bed for the night. Maybe this might make him sleep longer. I'm not sure why he is waking so often during the night now. Maybe he has a pain or maybe he's starting to teethe. I wish I knew... Don't we all!!!

One other thing, he is a big bub!! 10lb 2 oz at birth. now weighs 7.7kg. He's 15 weeks to be exact. Maybe he's not getting enough milk from me now... not sure??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I can safely say that, giving him formula wont guarantee he will sleep longer. If anything, it will mess with your supply.

Its not uncommon for bubs to wake at crazy hours or change their sleeping patten.

Best advice is can give is, go with the flow & dont fight it.

Its quiet common for babys go through sleep regression at that age. Google 4 month old waking through the night and you will see its common. They go through a big growth spurt around now.

Id say just follow his lead and it may pass

My DS is 15 weeks also and weighs 7.4kg.

He is doing exactly what your DS is doing, after sleeping for longer previously. However my DS is fully formula fed so agree with Triple Time that formula will not mean a full nights sleep!

I think it's just a stage, so am rolling with it and seeing how it pans out.

Highly unlikely formula will help the sleeping. The only advantage might be that your partner might be able to do a feed and give you a bigger sleep block (eventually this is what we did at about 5 months - didnt help his sleep but did help mine).
