You could go to Osbourne Park Hospital, its a public hospital but also takes private patients, that would be your closest. Or mayb you could look at Joondalup Health Campus. They take public and private patients
Hi!
I live SOR and had my bub at Armadale [Public and FANTASTIC!]. Lots of my friends went to Glengarrie as private patients and couldn't praise it enough! If you are wanting public i have heard Joondalup is great NOR.
Just remember that you won't go into labour and have bub in 10 minutes so look at all your options and if an extra 10 minutes in the car is all it will take to make you more comfortable for your birth than do it.

Its funny how different people have differernt experiences. I thought armadale was HORRIBLE, and the receptionist used to always make me cry.
Where you are, i'd recommend osborne park for public - i have had a few friends go there, and thy had great experiences, or for private Glengarry would be the closest. I have heard lots of good things about there. I have been their for non-baby related stuff and it was lovely
Just remember that private obstetricians book up REALLY fast in perth at the moment, so book in as early is you can if you want to go private
Good luck

I think the thing to remember is you will find people with good and bad experiences at every hospital! My advice, go public, research well, have a clear birth plan and good support people.
I've had two of my three at Ossie Park and would happily go back.
There's also Glengary which is not too far from you. It's private.

Other posters are right. You will find people who have had good and bad experiences at all hospitals. I'm 37wks pregnant with my first baby and I'm booked in at Osborne Park Hospital too. While I can't comment what it was like for me to give birth there yet, I have thought it has been fantastic so far. Every single doctor/midwife etc I have met have been excellent and since this is my first I have probably asked alot of silly questions and they have been so helpful! AND the birth suites are HUGE! They don't feel like a scary hospital. You can always check a few out too. They have tour times to go through the mat wards so you can see where you feel most comfortable.
Good luck!
