make sure you are really concience of feeding on the left breast the same amount, as when right handed you tend to favour right booby more without even thinking about it.....cold compress great for when your milks first coming in and you are so swollen and enlarged......but after that go for the hot compress and drink heaps of water, and easy to say but try as hard as you can to relax and breath as bubby,s can sence mum being uptight and rigid and will feed better when mums chilled out................goodluck babe...........jo

Join the ABA before the babies are born. They have lots of specialised twin-feeding information, and will probably be able to put you in touch with a trained BFing counsellor who has actually BF twins herself.

Find a good Lactation Consultant, before the birth, someone who has lots of experience with twin-feeding. If the LC costs money (sometimes the CHN can reccomend a free one, but otherwise a private one will cost you) think about how much money you will save (on formula, sterilising, bottles etc) if you can get BFing right.

Join the Multiple Births Association and make a real effort to find other twin mummy's who have successfully BF. Surrounding yourself with success stories is a great way to stay positive.

    Good luck!!

yep the queen said it all to plan B, my lactation consultant was great and like you i had suffered 3 times of mastitis in the first 3 months....she was great at helping me massage any lumps out and making sure i was getting bub on right, we plan on TTC next year and as much as i love breastfeeding, i am still a little scared and anxious that i don,t have as much trouble and to you too!

    cheers jo
