Yesterday, on our way to Barwon Heads, Lukey broke out in a rash.
His arms and his face were covered. I immediately stopped the car and called the Nurse on call number and from what I'd described, she thought it was hives. I then found a chemist (no easy feat on a Saturday afternoon!) and bought some Claratyne (dang! I was really hoping for the phernergan!!!) and within 3/4 of an hour the hives disappeared.
The chemist also agreed that it was definately hives.
He did go to a birthday party at Hungry Jacks that morning and ate their chicken nuggets (which he's never had before - I'm a Maccas gal!) so other than that, I can't think of anything that would give him this type of reaction. His clothes weren't washed any differently and everything else he'd had that day he'd eaten before. My question is how long after eating/touching something does the reaction occur? Could it have been from the day before? Is there a way to definately find out what gave him the hives in the first place? Will his reaction to this substance become more severe with time? Questions questions questions!!!
