    Default iui #2

    Hi Dr Jessup
I'm new to this thread. Have been ttc for 2 yrs now. Had a chemical pregnancy, then had a lap done. Dr said he cleaned out endo that was mainly around the tubes and ovaries. Was then put on clomid and fell pregnant on the 2nd month. Had a miscarriage right on 6 weeks. This was novemeber of last year. Am now going to ivf australia, this is my second month on injectibles and iui. The first month it was unsuccessful. The iui was performed on cd18 and i had 1 follicle. I am on a 37.5 dosage of gonal f as I ovulate on my own. This month my follicles are growing a little bit slower, although i do have 2 this month. They are predicting i will have the iui about day 20 of my cycle. Was just wondering if this is too late as I read somewhere that the egg quality is not as good this far along in a woman's cycle. Are the chances of conceiving still good at this late stage?

    Hi Dante,

As far as I am concerned, you still have an excellent chance of conceiving as long as the follicle is of correct size and the endometrium has thickened up appropriately. If no follicle develops at the beginning of a cycle, the day of ovulation will be later, and this should not have any detrimental effect on your chance of conceiving.

    Good Luck,

    Sonya
