Default Caeserean question for 2 nd bubs

    Hello, I am currently 8w 3d pregnant and due 25th February 2011.

I had a c-sect with bubs # 1 due to complications and at this stage will request that Bubs # 2 be born via c-sect too.

I am wondering when they would schedule the c-section for, 38 weeks is what I am thinking but thought i'd ask you lovely ladies on this forum if you were aware.

    Look forward to your replies.

If the issue that may arise from you delivering Vaginally is fatal/serious then you can be booked in to have a c/s at 38wks.

A close friend of mine had 2 c/s. First one @ 38wks due to bubs being breech and so they didnt want to take the chance of her going into labour naturally.
The second one was booked in at 38w4 due to the bubs size and because of her c/s he didnt think she could handle it.

I dont see why they would take the risk so 38wks shouldnt be an issue!

I think it depends on your hospital/OB. I was told I'd need a c/s after having an operation for a cornual ectopic (corner of my uterus was removed therefore I have a risk of rupture similar to having a previous c/s).

My OB at the time of the operation made a big deal of saying I'd have a c/s and the OB I saw at 16 weeks this pregnancy said I'd have it at 38/39 weeks. I finally got my date at 36 weeks and they booked me in only 3 days before my due date. I freaked out as I'd been told it would be earlier than that as they did NOT want me to go into labour. It took alot of tears and trying to get my message through for them to change it and the absolute earliest they would book was at 39 weeks exactly.

So it seems not all hospitals are happy to book you in for 38 weeks at all!
