    Default TMI Mucous plug

Sorry if this has been asked before, I just need some ideas/help

Mucous plug lost or not?? I could have said a sure yes, but now I am questioning....

On Monday in the morning I went to the toilet and (Sorry TMI) there was a large amount of sticky clear snot like stuff in my knickers. It was such a clump the when I pulled my knickers down they stuck to me and I had to pull them away and then saw why.

I explained to my midwife and she said that is was a show even though everything i have read mentions it being pink. This wasnt.

Also most say you then go into labour in the next few days.

I have had a dull period type ache since and its pretty bad today but no starting of labour.

Also I have hardly any discharge the whole pregnancy so it was pretty unusal.

So... do you think it was my mucous plug? and how long did it take till you went into labour if you had a show?

Love to hear what you think. I am driving myself nuts thinking about it...

The mucus that seals your cervix can come away any time in the last few weeks, and it can be anything from a solid plug like thing, to frequent passing of snot like stuff, and can range in colour from slightly yellowy to pinky/bloody or clear as well.

It can also regenerate, so unfortunately it's not a good way of telling when you are going to go into labour.

Count it as a positive sign though that things are happening, and try to relax and enjoy the final stretch.

Sounds like your mucous plug, but not a show.
They are said to be the same thing, but my midwife told me there was a difference between the two. They are both the loss of your mucous plug, but one is referred to as a bloody show when present with blood, and the other is simply your mucous plug when blood is absent.
I had a bloody show the day I went into labour with my DD.
You can lose your plug for weeks before you actually go into labour, and quite often your plug replaces itself.

It sounds like your plug which can come away over a period of a few weeks leading up to labour. It definitely does not sound like a show to me...

    Good luck!

I too found large amounts of sticky clear snot like stuff in my underwear, because I was 30 weeks at the time I just thought that it wasnt a big deal and probably replace itself. For about a week I would notice some in my underwear. It wasnt until I started getting contractions that I thought ok it was my mucus plug coming away. It was always clear.

Just keep an eye on it, could go either way.

This happens to me a least 3 times a week! Mine obviously replenishes itself. I notice it happens with strong BH contractions.

Try not to over think it, baby will come be he/she is ready and not a second before
