Post Student Midwives Humanitarian Trip to Nepal

    Hello,

My name is Kyra Morris and I part of a group of 8 Student Midwives embarking on a health promotion trip to Nepal. Each of us are Registered Nurses working in Maternity Units across Queensland.

Our aim is to raise money to aid in the distribution of medical and teaching equipment, education and supplies to rural and remote communities. We are endeavouring to take over foetal heart monitoring equipment, training baby manikins and pelvises, pinnards, hand sanitiser etc to the local hospitals and rural community midwives along with training and support for safe practice.

Whilst over there we will be visiting local aged care facilities and orphanages distributing blankets, baby clothes, tooth brushes and toothpaste, hand sanitiser and education for correct use.

To undertake such a large scale operation we are asking Bubhub members to personally contribute by way of donations of old medical equipment, healthcare, baby supplies or financial assistance.

I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this possibility with you, I can be contacted on:

    Thanks for your time,

    Kyra Morris

    Hi,
In Nov this year for three weeks.
Going to Pokhara, Nepal, which is about 30 min plane trip from the capital, Kathmandu. We will be taking over medical supplies, gloves, toothpaste, hand sanitiser, blankets, baby clothes etc. We will be engaging in both learning and teaching of traditional Nepalese cultures and also promoting safe health practices & hygiene from our western culture.
    Such a great opportunity!
    Kyra.
