Default What time does your 7 year old go to sleep?

I know it's mostly parents of babies who go to this section, so I'm not sure if I'll get any responses. I have a 7 year old that I put to bed at 8pm. He reads for a fair while, and then gets bored and comes in our room. Sometimes he doesn't go to sleep until 10pm. He doesn't even seem tired until then. I'm wondering if 8pm is too early to be trying to get him to sleep. What do other people do with a 7 year old?

7.30 pm was about when my 7 y/o's went to bed.
And wake up no later than 7am.
I think 10pm is too late for a young school child...JMO

I'm really strict on bedtimes. My kids have to get up between 5:30 and 6 am

    For us We do

    Up to 3yrs anytime
    4 to 7 it is 7pm
    8 to 10 it is 7:30 pm
    11 to 13 it is 8 pm
    14 to 15 it is 8:30 pm
    16 it is 9:30 pm
I can't tell after that as we haven't got that far.
Is blessed to have 6 wonderful kids.

It's interesting to know that others are ready for bed at 8pm or earlier. I had someone who is a psychologist once say to me that this boy is hyperactive. He's not so much physically hyperactive these days, but his mind still is. He's completely alert when I put him to bed at 8pm. I can tell there's no way he's going to go to sleep. He doesn't seem tired the next day either. The only time he's ready to go straight off to sleep at that time is when he's sick .
