    Default Bad Skin

    Hi There

Can anyone offer any suggestions to deal with bad/acne skin during pregnancy. I have always suffered from it, but have had it at bay for the last couple of years after being on roaccutane. It has now seemed to flare up again (Im 19 weeks)
I am trying to use non harmful products live QV moisturiser and bodywash, however doesnt seem to be making any difference.

    Any suggestions.

    Thank you.

I think it's really just the hormones at 19 weeks. I remember my skin errupted in volcanos on my chin and cheeks(facial) for about a month and then my skin turned absolutely beautiful after that. So best advice is don't pick or touch the pimples- they wil resolve quicker- especially if they are the deep kind- if they are left alone. Also " proactive" skin care is amazing for acne. Pretty sure it contains benzyl peroxide- which in small dose should be fine. Even if you only use the little bottle (can't remember what it's called- not the cleanser or the toner- the other one) it's really magic for pimples. HTH

Hi - I don't know if you are wearing make up or not, but if you are switch to mineral make up, bare escentuals is the best. Makes a HUGE difference to skin.

The other thing that has worked for me is organic rose hip oil at night instead of a moisturiser - I know it's an oil but for some reason it did work...

Hi I have the same problem, my skin is awful in pregnancy, i've tried pretty much everything you can think of and while some things seem to stop it getting worse (the medicated face washes etc), nothing actually gets rid of it for me in pregnancy. Nothing seems to be able to compete with the hormones!

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, my skin cleared up completely around 36wks with DS when the hormones started changing in preparation for labour. Most of my other pregnancy problems eased then too. I had great skin for a while after DS was born. Then when my period came back I started getting my usual menstrual hormonal acne again.

Thank you everyone for your information and advise, looks like I just need to wade through the storm until it gets better.
    Cheers
