Hi ladies im at westmead too.

Just finished a FET in Dec- 8 weeks pregnant now- twins.

I think overall westmead have been ok. while i think that the availability of staff can be lacking, they are so affordable in comparison to other clinics and there are more chances of success.
    I cant complain really.
Had first egg pick up in July/Aug- 26 eggs
    - fresh transfer cancelled.
    -a FET in Sept- failed
-a FET in Oct- pregnant but missed misc and D and C.
    - FET in Dec- successful.

So i would reccommend them for value.
Anyone else pregnant from westmead at the moment???

    Congratulations Grace!
Did you have two put back in each time?
Was it your choice or westmead's to put two back in?
Can I ask if age was a factor? It's just I'm 32 so not sure if they will put two in for me?

Grace2012, yes I am currently 8 weeks pregnant too from a fet in December.
I loved the service I received and would definately recommend them.
I also travelled from Brisbane to Sydney.

Wow there are some great experiences to read on here for this clinic. I think we will go for it at westmead as it will save us a lot of money. I have had a cycle before in the uk so I feel more confident that I could handle traveling as well. I'm going to go to the doctors on Monday and start the process.

    Hi Jen...
Yes as I have said before, i think they are good value, because IVF can be a long process and when there is minimal financial pressure, it really helps.
But I will still maintain that, its really important to have a good gp nearby, as when you have queries it can be difficult contacting them.
If I had my time again, I would use them again and have a local doctor too.
    Best of luck.

Hi girls, just thought id pop in and let you know we lost my triplet pregnancy last week, from a double transfer at Westmead. The nurse said I was a classic example as to why they only like to have one embie transferred. One of mine split.
I developed hyperactive thryoid and was extremely sick with all the classic thyroid symptoms before we found the bubs had no heartbeats at 10 weeks.

The singleton had gone a couple days before and the identicals had only gone either the night before or the morning of. I think it was just too much stress on my body. They are sending the material away for testing but they suggested it would most likely be chromosomal issues rather than my thyroid, I know they are all doctors but I think they are wrong. I dont believe both of them would have had chromosomal problems. I think my thryroid killed them. I was so sick and I just dont think my body could cope.

Dextermum my heart goes out to you..

Thyroid is something that the DR should check before you're TTC or did it just come about recently when you're pregnant.
