Mrs Jag - you might be ok. I never asked in advance and have always had a guided transfer on my 3 transfers. Just ask when you are there They usually have it in the room. They do it on your tummy though.......GOOD LUCK TODAY!!

Lynlee - thanks so much for your info. Yeah think I might transfer to Dr Fong depending on how I go this cycle.

    AFM
    - day 4 of jabbing and feeling fine. Only think the meds seem to do for me is make me super super tiiiiiiired. Getting nervous though as I still haven't lost any weight. Eeeeeeek. I am 7kg heavier then last cycle and I forgot to tell my FS. She put my meds down this cycle as last cycle I got 17 eggs on 150 of gonal f. This time I am on 125. I hope we get some eggies and I hope I don't end up even fatter for EPU

Lynlee – there are a few things to be avoided after transfer, the biggest one I have been told is to not overheat yourself, so not hot baths, saunas, etc and if you get a fever take panadol (or anything except for Nurofen) to help try and bring it down. There is so much information on Google, I found this site useful: http://www.drmalpani.com/book/chapte...ryo%20transfer
The other thing that I avoid is drinking pineapple juice. Yes, for those of you who have heard this before, I’m sorry to have to repeat it, but 5 months on it still haunts me. I misunderstood the theory that pineapple can help with implantation. So during my TWW In cycle 4 I drunk about 2L (yes, not a typo) of pineapple juice a day, when in fact I was to eat a piece of the pineapple core a day for the first 5 days after ET only. Pineapple juice (and the flesh) is very acidic, which is not a good environment for the embryos to implant. I am forever grateful to Kylee for informing me correctly.

Lynlee – I’m so sorry that you haven’t had the chance for a transfer this time around, I really feel for you. I’ve had the frustration of doing a cycle that ended in no fertilisation, but I’ve moved on and as sad/angry as you feel now, you will definitely move on to and start cycling again

Lilly – my FS is Dr Melhem. I first saw Dr Tong but like Dr Melhem they just want me to keep trying without doing any investigation or changing anything. Don’t get me wrong, they have both been very lovely, but if I’m paying good money to see them and I’m doing all the research, making suggestions and basically running the appointment, they should be paying me???? I think I’m looking for a FS who wants to know why my cycle’s keep failing and to try and be proactive in helping us achieve our dream of completing our family. I have no intention of moving from WFC, but I do have the option of changing to (yet another) FS, which one, I just don’t know. Jabbing made me tired too, but don’t stress too much. I’m worried to read you are trying to lose weight, I’ve heard it’s not ideal when stimming. I, too, have put on weight since my last cycle. I have no excuse now, I should try and work on it. I suppose just as long as you don’t do anything drastic it should be fine and unless all you eat is KFC, Maccas and Pizza Hut over the next few weeks you shouldn’t end up fatter at EPU!

Jeannie – I’m sorry my thread affected you, you have enough to deal with than for me to make you feel sad. I am touched you feel for me, and your DH sounds like a wonderful support and being so involved in this awful rollercoaster with you is obviously a great help. Thank you for your concerns, you are so sweet. Well, you’re almost at the halfway point in the TWW, well done, bring on the next 7 days, I can’t wait

Mrsjag – how did ET go? I too forgot to ask at EPU for a guided transfer. I phoned them the day after and they said they’ll speak to the FS on the day. As my ET was brought forward it wasn’t mentioned but when we went into the room everything was set up for a guided transfer, so I have a feeling this is common practice now, sounds like the case with Lilly too

    Thanks Lilly.

MTC, still waiting. I was supposed to have it now, but got a phone call yesterday and it's been pushed back to 1.10pm this afternoon.

Fingers crossed they might have the guided stuff set up. Last time around, it was like an intern was doing it.. an old (kind of grumpy) lady sat down and talked a younger girl through it. No ultrasound (vag or normal) just speculum & catheter.

Well, I am back with GREAT news!

We have one hatching blastocyst on board:

    hatchingblast.jpg

And... best of all... our other two embies also survived. We have 2 frosties!!! I am over the moon, cannot believe we had 3/3 get to blasty stage this time around. Can you even believe it? Hubs and I quite literally high-fived over the speculum, we were that excited.

MrsJag - wooooo hoooooo a hatching blastie. That is awesome Well done on being PUPO and having two frosties. Such great news. Good luck on your TWW hun.

Mumtochris - Yeah I will stay with WFC too. But might change to Dr Fong. But hopefully I won't have to as hopefully this cycle with work Was meaning to lose weight before I started stimming and didn't oops. So now just don't want to put any one before EPU. The meds make me put on weight. I eat healthy, more just in winter with long work hours it's harder to get exercise in and when I don't move and exercise I put on weight. All good though I am sure it will be fine. Hope you are having a nice weekend.

Thankyou! I know it's all still luck, but just feels so different from the first transfer. It's like starting over again. Strange feeling!

I couldn't afford to switch to another clinic, even if I wanted to. I look at the prices of the private ones and can't believe it!

Sorry to harp on about Dr Fong so much, but have you seen her MTC?? I have only one failed cycle under my belt, and already she is doing a heap of tests they she even said usually they wait a little longer to do (i.e. more detailed sperm tests, and genetic blood tests)... she is so thorough!! I dont have a bad word to say and feel confident she truely has my best interests at heart.
