Yes they have changed their protocol. Crinone is now used from 2 days after EPU.

    Hi cannotgiveup,
Protocol must have only just changed. I had ET 6 weeks ago and started crinone day of transfer as I've done on previous transfers. Also the Dr has used ultrasound each time, but maybe that is different with different Drs.
I know they have changed quite a few things in the last 12 months.
I'm sure it is all for the best.

    hi kaz
You go to your doc, then pay the doc.
You make payment to the clinic once per cycle. My amount was due the day I picked up my drugs (ie my second visit). I paid the full amount up front (approx $5,000) and got back $3800 or so, ie out of pocket about $1,100 for stime cycle. You just make that one payment, all your nurses appts, u/sounds, BTs, egg pickup and embryo tfr are included in that big amount.

    Everyone!

Sandramm1- Did you have a guided ultrasound done?

Anglemichelle- This is the first time I have a non guided ultrasound ET. I thought Dr M was in a rush as there were a few people waiting to get their transfer done on the day.

Hopefully- Good luck hun! I hope this is the cycle for you. What day embryo did you get put back?
I too had that feeling. My cramping started on the day after ET. I had a day 2 embryo put back.

Anyone else have a non guided ultrasound?

Hey Kaz, I go to Southern Pathology on Denison Street for my tests. I haven't had my bill yet, but the way I see it, it costs $30 in petrol $15 in tolls, then we buy breakfast/lunch which might be $20... so to be able to get it done locally might cost more, but when you take out that, PLUS the 4-odd hours of travelling time, its well worth it.

Once you pay your $1450/$5055, you don't pay anything else to the clinic.

I had my EPU yesterday (wondering if any of you girls were in there with me???) and go back tomorrow for transfer.

I got 11 eggs and 5 have fertilised, so fingers crossed we get a couple to freeze.

cannotgiveup- Nope I didnt have an ultrasound at transfer. They showed me on a screen my little embies, then put them in and then checked under a microscope to see if they had been inserted.

kate-well done good amount of eggies.I got my bloods done in townsville before going down to the clinic & never got a bill was bulk billed but on my first cycle i thought i had a urine infection & WFC ran a urine test which i got a bill for $20.70 from the hospital !!! Found out afterwards it was a reaction from the Puregon, high eostrogen levels & bladder was screaming passing it through.GL for transfer hope this is the right time for you

In regards to the ultrasound guided transfer q's...I had 1st transfer with Dr Smith he did a ultrasound guided transfer & Dr M for my 2nd transfer with no ultrasound.I think it just depends on what the FS likes doing but we got photos of the embies both times off the big screen.Take your camera & make sure to ask.2nd cycle the nurse helping with transfer even took the photos for me as i was on my own.
