    Hi girls,
"Birth Skills" by Juju Sundin and Sarah Murdoch is all about natural pain management in labour. It gives you heaps of knowledge about what your body is actually doing during labour and what sorts of things can help you manage the pain. It's really clear and non-judgemental. Well worth a read I think. I'm not necessarily wanting a totally natural, drug-free birth but I would like to avoid being restricted to lying on my back due to an epidural.

Martina - I found that the extra scans were good for us in the beginning but I did feel like we were just living scan to scan in those early days. I think once our 12-week scan was all clear the anxiety started to lift. I think having a doppler would have made me more anxious and paranoid actually!! - especially knowing now that our little one ALWAYS wriggles away or kicks somebody when they try putting any sort of monitor on him!!

Leelalove - I had heaps of period-type pains early on, I think it's just the uterus stretching to accommodate what's about to happen

Super - yay, so exciting to feel your bubs, it only gets better

    to everyone else.

Hi everyone thanks for all of your support- I really do appreciate it. It’s good to hear I am not the only one who worries before a scan… in saying that we have all experienced loss.

Lealalove-Good luck with your scan tomorrow. I will say a little prayer for your Bebek tonight as I now (haven’t really prayed in years) do every night for our bebek. Please update us as soon as you can.

Bbooo- I used to work in a book shop and read that book all the time- its very empowering.

    Super- congrats on the movements!

Em- thanks for your feed back. I think I will wait till the 12 wks before seriously considering buying one. I have checked out eBay.

I have been to the OB today and he wrote up the referrals for an 8 wk scan and normal bloods. He wasn’t happy that I volunteered to let Dr’s training in ultrasound practice on me… I reassured him that it wasn’t an internal one. He doesn’t need to see me for a month, so that’s good.
Work is very stressful at the moment and I wish we could afford for me to say home and just rub my belly allllll day!

    Evening all,

I am so sorry for the lack of personals... I will try my best but I am so knackered and tired lately. I find the time to read but then I get distracted and don't post.

Martina - Good luck with your upcoming appointments. And I give you permission to buy whatever you like and not feel guilty. The men don't understand the urge to buy stuff. So you tell him

BB000 - I think I will have to somehow acquire a copy of Birth Skills and give it a read... I wonder if I can get it as an Audiobook for my iPhone and have it read to me .
Hope everything is well with you. How much longer until you finish work?

Lealalove - Good luck tomorrow morning. I too had period type cramping early on. Like BB said I think its just everything stretching and the baby snuggling in nicely. Try not to stress, easier said than done.

Superstarr - I get the same. If I am tired or hungry I feel like I am going to . So far I've only had one good spew this pregnancy.
4 weeks till your scan, that is going to seem like forever. Is that for your Morph Scan??

Melameen - Hello lovely. How is everything going? Coming along nicely??

Luckyme - 9 weeks 3 days today??? How is the positive thinking going? Hope all is well. Not long till your scan??

AFM - I am just so buggered all the time. I just want to all the time. And I am so hungry lately. I have to try and eat right but sometimes I just want junk food.
I have a specialist appointment on wednesday. its been 3 week since the last, so not sure what they'll do. Guess its all just extra monitoring??

Nine weeks four days today. I have another scan on Friday which I'm nervous about. But I guess it's better to know either way. I'm hoping that it's all going to be ok am d this will reassure me for the twelve week scan. Back at work today so a bit nervous about that, cos feel I have got very fat already, or something will go wrong while I'm at work. Bur there is no reason to think that.

Lealalove - good luck for your scan To answer your question Dopplers are meant to pick up HB from 12 - 14 weeks... but some people can hear it earlier and some later I think. You know the usual scphiel of "everyone is different" bla bla that we seem to get told fairly often during this pregnancy thing! I must admit I felt the same way as a couple other people originally thinking "oh it will make me more stressed and anxious" but after using it and seeing how easy it is and how amazing it is to be able to hear that little HB in your own home I am a convert! Extra bonding time for me, DH and bubs I reckon!

Fireflies - I am good thanks darl! Getting a pot belly now wish it would round out so I look pregnant not just like I have hit the tim tams too hard Sorry to hear you are so tired, just do whatever you body wants you to and get all the rest you need! (or are able to)

    everyone else.

Shala - how are you darl? Haven't heard from you in a while.

AFM - 15 weeks today and got heaps of energy and feel good again. Second tri has really kicked in properly now. 5 weeks til my next scan

    Take care everyone

    Em
    xx

    Ladies

Just back from my scan... What a scary nervous experience! The busting to wee helped with the nervousness I think

Well we saw a heartbeat!! Was beating at 129bpm which sounds pretty good, was such a relief. The bub measured at 6wks when I am certain that I am 7wks, this has me a little worried. I know for sure when I ovulated and I am very regular. Can they get the measurments wrong at this stage?

The hb was picked up by an external scan and the lady thought she saw 2 flickers so I had to have a transvaginal just in case... Thank goodness there was only one bub! She said the sac looked large so I think she was a little worried. Once she did the internal she said everything look perfect, sac and yolk great size and hb perfect. Anyone else measured a week earlier that they thought? Should I be concerned... Of course I am!!

Thanks for your well wished girls, it really helped x

Congrats Lealalove, that is a good strong heartbeat and if she said everything looked great from your internal then you can rest assured it is all good! I measured 3 days out on my first scan when I absolutely swore blind that I knew my dates - I still think every little person is different and grows at different rates so how on earth can they claim to know exactly how old you are from the size?! I mean all adults are different sizes so how could they know?

    Congrats again
