I got this receipe from a Gordon Ramsay cooking show. I think it is called 10minute pasta but F**K off Pasta sounds good too.
    • 1 leek chopped into circles
    • 1/2 cup of diced bacon
    • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
    • 2 tablespoons of sour cream
    • 2 tablespoons of thickened cream
    • 1/2 cup of cooked peas
    • Pasta
    1. Put the pasta on to boil
    2. Put a little oil in a big pan
    3. Add bacon bits and leek and stir until cooked
    4. Add mushrooms
    5. Turn heat down
    6. Add sour cream and thickened cream
    7. Season with pepper
    8. Mix through pasta

I use in a similar way (I love leek)

wonderful for mushroom & leek soup however you need more.

    I made last night -

    cook some pasta

chop leek (You need to rinse hte inside of it a bit as it gets dirt in there, i dont bother too much)

cook with some chopped mushrooms, and some other green veg ie chopped asparagus, chopped broccoli or whatever

throw through a tub of thickened cream (i use light), a tin of salmon and a half cup of peas, heat gently.

    done.

Finely slice leek and finely sliced cabbage, sautee gently in butter and garlic, with a sprinkling of sesame seeds.

Or I use it in curries... dice the leek and carrots, sautee in butter, then add your usual spices/sauces etc.

Use it in place of onions... leek flan, sliced leek in between your potato layers for scalloped potatioes or au gratin.

I make an awesome leek and asparagus pie!!

    Just slice the leek
blanche some asparagus (or use canned if you like)
Then sautee the leek, add the asparagus and 1 1/2 cups of stock (or asparagus juice if using cans)
Then add cheese sauce (I usually make my own but store bought would be fine) about 1 cup
I the just throw in whatever is in the fridge mushrooms or zucchini or chicken if it for DP
pour all of that into a pie dish and put your pastry on top.
    Bake until golden.
