There's quite a bit of information in here - although well meaning - that is grossly inaccurate and misleading.

I found a few claims about certain companies particularly outlandish and I would suggest that if you're going to boycott a company that you do so based on your own research.

For my part, I choose not to use Vodafone, Google or MSN as it directly supports the pornography industry. I won't buy any eggs in this country on the commercial market so I have my own hens. I also ignore the 'fair trade' marketing term as my research shows that it's simply that - a marketing term.

    Buyer beware.

I boycott Bonds now that they've moved off-shore. If people want to give my kids Bonds clothes as presents, I have no problem with that... but they won't be getting my money !!

I refuse to buy cage eggs, though I would be curious to see what conditions the 'free range' chickens are living under. I'm pretty sure it's not as good as we think it is. If I were able to keep my own chickens I would... and as I don't know anyone with chickens to buy eggs from, I'll have to keep getting my eggs from the supermarket.

It's not quite a boycott (it was too late for me)... but if any of you are thinking of building a house in Victoria, don't build with Porter Davis.... we did, and we've regretted it ever since. The display houses look lovely, but the quality of the build and the finishes of the house you get is absolute cr@p. I would never, ever build with them again.

I've never heard of the Gloria Jeans stuff... but as my parents are Pentecostal, I'm quite used to hearing about Hillsong... but not quite the stuff that has been written about them in links from this thread. Very interesting indeed !! (I don't drink Gloria Jeans anyway).

About 4 years ago, I found out that Telstra had been taking $11 from my credit card every month then charging me overdue fees. I'd never given them my credit card number and I had never even used the credit card - not even once. I think I got mail from the card company but never opened it because I'd never used the card, so maybe partly my fault it went on for so long. Anyway, I contacted the Telecommunications Ombudsman and after a long drama, we settled out of court and I didn't have to pay anything. Unfortunately, though, I feel they got away with it because I could never have afforded to actually sue them.

Wow so many interesting stories on who boycotts what and why... Thanks for letting us fellow bh's know... I didn't know half of what these companies get up to!!! We try not to buy meat (especially mince) from Coles or Woolies after I saw that story on on e of the current affairs shows (know they sometimes over exaggerate stories and issues) but I was disgusted how these chains 'colour' the mince to make it look fresh yuck !!! We buy our meat from the local butcher, support the 'little guy'

    i don't boycott anything deliberately.

But I thought it was illegal for chickens etc to be 'caged' in Australia (like they're caged in america, with heaps of chooks shoved into tiny little cages?)

I live rural and we have the bayada (Sp?) chicken farm just out of town and the chickens aren't 'caged' but are kept in sheds for their entire lives,
Is this what is ment by caged?
