I don't boycott anything. I figure if you look hard enough into any company/product you'll find something unethical going on.

anagram I think that is part of being a mother - having to explain everything (p.s to you and everyone else any of my posts are not personal to anyone here) But back to my post about the disabled workers why arent they paid minimum wage like someone else who is in a factory job? I bet this wont be a policy for any government in power at the time!

Just in response to the caged egg vs free range ethical debate....
I'm currently studying a B Food Science and Human Nutrition and it was mentioned in one of my classes that there is no major difference in the numbers of chickens kept in 'free' range as compared to caged hens.
Caged hens can be treatd quite unhumanely - beaks removed etc, but often the same practises are used in free range chickens.

The AVERAGE figures for No. of chickens per M2 are as follows:
    Caged hens - 16-18 hens per M2
Free Range hens - 14-16 hens per M2

Needless to say, I've changed ALOT of my food opinions since undertaking this course.
You can't believe everything the big companies tell you!

I've just read every page of this discussion and find it quite fascinating.

I don't really boycott any brands/companies. I find it just too complex an issue. I choose products that are good quality and made in Australia were possible. Some days I'm just lazy and buy cheap crap from Kmart, for example, but usually end up regretting my purchase. I am making a more concerted effort to buy quality items from independent retailers.

If I find that what someone sells isn't up to scratch, I won't buy it. I don't buy clothes from Kmart or Big W because they don't last. I don't buy cheap plastic toys because they don't last.
I now refuse to buy anything from Colorado (or their brands) because the last THREE pairs of shoes I have bought have begun to fall apart within a few months, and a wallet that didn't close once I put a single card in each pocket. They were good about the first two pairs of shoes, but the third pair I took back to Williams where I bought them, and they told me they were still wearable (just uncomfortable where the inner sole lining was coming off) and that four months was a 'fair while'. For a $100 pair of shoes??? I haven't followed it up with Colorado directly yet, but will. I don't care how 'ethical' Colorado might be, if their product is rubbish, I won't buy from them.

she's probably friends with Germain Grere. And Telstra Telstra Telstra!!!! Everytime I've been a customer they've stuffed up things and the customer service to fix it has been disgraceful!
