Oh and we are going in to see them one day this week. As I have been in there before, I am not signing anything unless I get it free. I am taking the kids out for the day anyway so may as well go and waste their time as they have wasted alot of other peoples time. Going in with my eyes and ears open. I've been ripped off before by another company. That was 13 years ago, am older and wiser now lol

Oh dear, my story is very similar to everyone else's out there... It would appear that I too have been scammed. I even got up the courage to phone and complain about the horrible photos that we had taken at the photo shoot (3 months after joining) and asked if I could - at my OWN expense - pay for a new photo shoot with my own photographer to get better shots for them to use in her Bettina portfolio. I did that and e-mailed copies of the photos through and they insist that the ones they are using (or not using - who knows?) are just fine. Grrr - silly me for not doing the research!

Anyhow - Mum and wife you say you have come across reputable modelling agencies that don't charge an upfront fee. Are you able to send through some names? I am in New South Wales.

Thanks! I don't care so much about whether my daughter does modelling or not but I would like to make back the $700 I have spent on the membership fee and photo shoot...

I have had experience with them as well....... I was a kid and my parents paid a fair amount of money and they never bothered to pretend they were trying to get me any work.
They indicated that I was too old for the agency but they were happy to take our money before telling us this after several months.

I nearly got suckered into them last year. They rang and told me that Max was shortlisted for a competition that we had entered about 9 months prior. I was pretty excited because of course, I think my kid is the most amazing thing ever.
I rocked up to the interview where she outlined a whole lot of payment options and kept prattling on about how cute Max was, telling me that she could see lots or work in his future because he was so charming etc...
Anyway, I thought I had WON something, so I was a bit upset, but agreed to come back for a photoshoot because any excuse to have professional photos taken of Max is a good excuse.

The night before the photoshoot, my friend rang to say that she had won too and was excited. I mentioned my experience and we both started researching. Luckily I managed to avoid signing any contracts or paying any money being suckered into this company.

They're not doing anything wrong legally, but morally it is pathetic.

Also, the photos from the photoshoot were TERRIBLE. Absolutely terrible. She used auto focus, so half of them were blurry. Terrible.

I WASTED SO MUCH MONEY ON THEM, AND GOT $0 IN RETURN.

I haven't heard great things about Bettina. I was looking at signing myself and son up and found Bump Models. We have both been with them since I was pregnant and he was new born and they are fantastic! {text deleted by Moderator}

Hi, I have not read all posts but I just saw the heading of this thread and it was enough for me!!

2 years ago I approached Bettina Child Modelling agency and they loved my Son and said he'd be popular with his olive skin and dark eyes and flat ears. They were quick to sign us up. What a big fat waste of money!!!!

I was with them for a year, paid big $$ the said I had to pay for a photo shot that was less than average, with a good camera, I could have done 100% better, but this "photographer" photographed Kylie Minogue, so he must be good, hey! Anyway, I paid the money, and a fee every month and got nowhere. Absolutely nothing, no return on anything. They completely stooged us. A compete con job. Don't go anywhere near them!!
