    Default Approval

    Hi Muzzy,

Not sure what stage you are at, but it took us 18months from application to approval. But we had to wait 3 months for education and 11months for a social worker to do our interviews.

    Hope all is progressing well.
    Cheers

Default Our journey so far ...

    Hi all

It's my first time posting here! DH and I had 7 cycles of IVF and then a loss at 22 weeks (not IVF!) before we applied to adopt. We are 34 and 37yo.

We got as far as the panel where we were told to loose some weight (not something raised at all previously, so a bit of a shock!) - but we did it. And 5 months later (Dec 2013) we were approved and placed onto the state wide registry in Jan 2014.

Soooo ... it's been 12 months and nothing

We elected not to be told if we were put forward for a consideration and only to receive a call should we be successful. I think we were quite ok with the waiting last year, but now that the one year mark is about to tick over I feel increasingly worried. Have they forgotten about us? Should we call them? etc

Sigh. DH and I have made a deal with ourselves to wait until the end of March. If we haven't heard anything by then, we will call our social worked (if she is even still around) just to make sure they haven't forgotten about us.

So anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and have a little bit of a vent! Thanks for listening and I will keep my fingers crossed for all of us

    Default The waiting begins

    Hello all,
Mrs Hyndes, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I lost two babies 1 at 24 weeks and the next at 19 weeks. It's a very traumatic experience. I then found out that due to some blood disorder I will most likely continue to not carry a baby past mid term. So no more IVF, and now hopefully adoption
We haven't gotten very far yet. We have put our names down and are awaiting an invitation to an information session.
Does anybody know how many people they have at information sessions? I'm curious to know if they send out 10 invites or 100 invites.
We were only put on the waiting list last November, so I guess we have to wait awhile.....
I wish you all the best of luck
    xo

    Hi Choc!
Thank you for your reply! We are only at the very start we have our info session on the 4th feb! Just wondering what the go is with travelling during the application time? We been trying for nearly 5 years now and if the adoption process is going to take a long time (which we expect) then we are planning a trip next year and just wondering if that's doable?
We also rent our house, do we need to own our house?

    Thanks :-)
