    Default Beaudesert Hospital

    Hi,

I've heard that Beaudesert had stopped delivery babies but are now back in operation. Does anyone have any info or past experiences they would like to share?

Those of you who may be living in the area, what hospital would you use instead?

    Thanks

i have heard that Beaudesert isn't a good hospital and what ever you do DON'T go to Logan! my XSIL went there to have both her daughters there and had major problems with both of them! she almost lost the first one & they broke her second daughters arm when delivering her by c-section!

i cant say to much on beaudesert as when i lived there the maternity ward was closed, i did have to use it for other things i had a collapsed lung and had shocking treatment, and infact the treatment they gave me cause further complications. but that was in 01 and not maternity so sorry cant say much.

as for logan, well i had my last bub there, it wasnt the best care all round but it certianly wasnt bad, i had a long labour 28hrs and almost had a c-sect, but bub came as they were getting ready for me. i was refufing a c-sect, or any intervention up till that point. my lil man was born dead and had to be resussed but he was fine in the end, they didnt let me see him until they had done what they need to to make him breathe, i actually dont really know what they did, just that it felt like it took hrs when in actual fact i had him in may arms after 10 mins.
he was born dead from nothing the hospital did, it was the length of labour and the stress he was in, also i was suffering low bp during labour so it was a hard birth for him and me.
i just wanted to clear it up, yes there are horrible births at all hospitals, and they are usually the ones we hear about. what you need to do is find out if you feel comfit-able there, also have an idea of what you want or dont want during labour, and see if they agree with your values on this.

i was born in beaudesert hospital
and my mum had the best care and i was 8 weeks premmie this was in 90 though

and i was going to go there for DD but yes they dont have maternity services.

i ended up having her at logan and although my labour wasnt fantastic, my SIL had 3 bubs there including twins and they were absouloutly fantastic- they were good with me when it came to the crunch, i just didnt speak up enough and was treated a bit badly because i was young, ie. breastfeeding and such.
but as a pp said-u will have good and bad experiences everywhere.

Midwives from Logan are starting a midwifery model of care for all women in beaudesert. So you get your own midwife whom you see antenatally and 2 weeks postnatally af beaudesert. You deliver at Logan with one of the midwives from the group practice. From what I know you do all your booking in appt etc with the obstetrician at beaudesert hospital, they will give you info on the midwifery group practice (mgp) then good luck, Logan isn't a bad place to have a baby
