Default Day 3 embryo 4 cell

I am waiting to have day 5 transfer tomorrow, Yesterday ( day3) the scientist told me she remembers a couple of embryos were at 4 cell stage when she changed the culture media and a couple of embies at 7-8 cell stage, I have 6 embryo in total by day3.

I am concerned with the slow embies that if they can develop into blastocys tomorrow. Does anyone have similar experience? I guess what is running in my head is I am not very confident for tomorrow transfer.. though it is clear I can't do anything about it but wait and see.

    Hi K2Chat,
Wow, 6 embies still progressing is great news! From reading your signature looks like it is further than your embies have been other cycles?

On my 1st stim cycle I had a couple of front runners like you and the majority lagging behind (from 9 fertilised). On Day 5 they transfered the 'best' looking 2 embies and let the 'slower' ones go to day 6...and what do you know 3 of those made it to blasto the next day and were able to be frozen. So you never know what those little guys are going to do and really neither do the embryologists!

Just out of interest how many eggs did you have collected from the antagonist cycle? I'm going to epu friday (this is my 1st antagonist cycle too).

Good luck for your transfer tomorrow and to you!!

How lucky to get so many embies!!

Last month's FET our emby was 4 cell on day 3 and had grown to 7 cell by day 4.

I'm currently in the TWW with an 8 cell on board (day 3) but on day 2 it was only 3 cell.

My point is that sometimes they start out slow but then catch up really quickly. All you can do is wait and see.

    Good luck to you

Thanks for sharing your experiences girls, I have been pretty cool during this cycle, but got quite uneasy since yesterday. I recently got AMH tested and the resul tis 6.8. so I kind of let go, i.e. do my best and let it be.

Startfish, I have 8 eggs collected, 6 mature but 7 fertilised, by day 3, there are 6 left. This is my first true antagonist cycle, last cycle, I started off as down reg but I had severe allergy towards lucrin, so I stopped drug and wait for AF to start antagonist cycle. I had 7 eggs collected, only 3 fertilised and transferred one 7 cell and one 8 cell on day 3, the other 4 cell embie just self arrested later. I guess the lucrin still managed to suppress the egg development.. only guessing. Personally I will choose Antagonist as it is short and less injections and I read somewhere that it is better choice for 35+ women. All the best for your Friday EPU.

pumpernickel, thanks for your kind words, I did feel very lucky to have a better result than last time so far, but Day 5 transfer is a challege for me or actually for my little embryos :-) I have not done this before.. your little day 3 embie sounds fantastic, keep the momentum, keep growing, little one!

I am not sure if I am asking correctly but here goes...

We are Day 3 Grade 1 embris (2) we have not lost any they only retrieved 3 one didnt fertilize well....they told us today there is no fragmentation, but they are slow on cell division still at day 2 expectation yet its day 3...I dont know is this something to be worried about? I am 43, lost a baby last year at the end of the 1st trimester and have a healthy almost 3 year old.
