    Exclamation Bonogin/ Tallebudgera Valley area?

Hi, I'm going to be staying, on my own, at my Aunties place while she's away, in Bonogin, without a car - and just going from google maps and the translink website - I'm gonna be stuck in the middle of no where with no access to anything.

As best i can work out, my closest shops will be Reedy Creek - 1.5 hours walks away...

Does anyone live in/know this area at all, if there is anything I can do, or walk to, to pass the time? I'm going to be there for a month. My mum will be visiting me, but she'll be working during the week, and we're going to looking at rentals on the weekends (I'm thinking robina, varsity lakes, nerang or coomera areas - anywhere with good transport really, as no car is a problem for us)

I have a 17 month old boy who's not a HUGE fan of his pram ATM, so thats just going to make it harder for me, but I'm freaked out at the idea of being alone with bub for 5 days during the week, for 4 weeks, with absolutely no where to go.

Any ideas? I'm from Sydney and I really dont know the Gold Coast well at all, as when I visit my mum she drives us from place to place doing the touristy thing, I've never actually stayed anywhere in the GC for any length of time - let alone Bonogn!

    Big thanks in advance!!!!

My cousins live in Bonogin. Off Bonogin Road. Its a beautiful are but kind of is in the middle of nowhere.

I know there is a nice park that my cousin takes her 4 year old and 18month old to and I *think* they walk there in the pram sometimes but other than that they generally drive and take the kids to Currumbin Beach (AMAZING playground there) to to the indoor play centre near Stocklands at Burleigh.

Could you use taxi's with baby seats and maybe plan to get out once a week?

I hadn't thought of taxi-ing from time to time. Thats a really good idea !

I'm pretty fit and used to walking absurd distances, seeing as i cant drive I could even walk to the shops, or walk to the beach, and then catch a taxi back. Because it should be mostly downhil anyway, as she's on the top of a mountain. I just thought walking 1.5 hours to the shop, I couldn't walk back.

I'll check out how far currumbin beach is to walk also.

Hmmm, I wonder if there is a website or something for local areas to see where parks might be... hmmmm... googling may be in order...

    Thanks

    Hey,

I dont know that area at all....so I cant be of a huge help but there is a thread in Gold Coast Section...I think its called Park/Playgrounds for Toddler?? If you go in there and click on the link, its a website for Gold Coast Parks That might help find a good park close by?

She's not in Strawberry Road, is she? Our friends have just sold a place up there ... and it really is UP there. There are a few little shops hidden away in the streets, and a little shopping village at the bottom of the hill (possibly Mudgeeraba?) but it is pretty isolated.

Would there be any bus services locally? I know the GC isn't renowned for that sort of thing, but there might be a something that comes close enough for you to walk to. Good luck!
