    Default Help! For those with two under two how did you....

    breastfeed or feed #2?

    My DS is 10 mos and have another one on the way. DS will be 13 mos. I just remembered that it could take up to an hour to breastfeed him and it happened every three hours.
    How did you keep your first born amused while you did this?? He's already so active!! Any tips greatly appreciated!!

    Oh not to worry you'll manage somehow although it is a bit challenging.

    * a box of special BF toys that only came out with a feed
    *into the high chair with a snack and a drink while I fed
    * tv
    * lots and lots of feeds whilst bub was in the sling and DS was running around

    My DD seemed to realise it wasn't going to be hour long feeds pretty early on and by 3 months her feeds were under 5minutes a side.

    All the best

    I"m in the same predicament! DS will be 15 months old when newbie arrives and at this stage I'll be breastfeeding both of them.

    If you come up with any fantastic tips once you're actually in the thick of it, please come back and share! I dare say I'll be starting a few similar threads in about 4 months.

    Yeah, um, that was hard.

    Until I discovered iPhone applications for children. These got me through the first 7 weeks or so and are fantastically educational.

    Now she is only allowed them for five minutes a day because I'm not having my 2-year-old stuck on a gadget for any longer than that but they really helped in the beginning. DS used to feed for two hours every three hours.

    Books etc got us through most of it and the iPhone helped at the end.

    Good luck! It's awesome having 2 under 2.
