    Default SAHDs

This is the dad's forum, but I'm wondering how many - if any - of you are stay-at-home-dads (SAHDs)?

I'm about to start this adventure in a few months, and while my wife will be home several months after birth, I would be lying if I said I am not nervous and anxious about that first solo day when she goes back to work!

Not me...my DH is a SAHD - unfortunately (or fortunately?) he's not a member here (and I don't think that anything I could do or say would induce him to become one! )

If you want to know anything in particular, I'm happy to ask him and pass his answer on!

Nice to see another boy in the fold.

    We need more guys!!!

I have been a SAHD but was working from home as well so not the same. Having said that spending heaps of time with the kids is fantastic as long as you can talk to big people regularly as well

My DH has been a f/t SAHD since the birth of our DS (who is now 4 months old). I went back to work at 6 weeks - so my DH was in the deep end right from the beginning. He has been a fantastic parent and has had to learn heaps quickly .. but is absolutely loving it. I will let him know about your thread as he is eager to find like minded dads

Hey there, I'm not but think it would be great - maybe one day. Right now DW is the one at home. Good luck with everything.

I'm new here but I will be a SAHD from November for a year. Recently put in the forms in at work.

The Mrs is only taking 3 months off post birth so I will be the main stay-at-home parent.

Maybe by November I will be able to go to you for advice.

Well you know what....I'm actually somewhere in between I'm sure. Being a shift worker allows me tons of time off during the week and as my shifts rotate along, over the weekend too.

I'm looking forward to getting fully involved with bubs as when my wife is at uni I plan to tag along and sit in their awesome cafe and just hang out with bubs until wifey's study period is over.

Shift work definately has its advantages guys.
