    Default What's with my child?

Do all babies do this or just mine?
Is it a sign to come?
I'll explain, he cries and screams for things, like tantrum like. He wants to play with everything and when I take it away or say no, or when he can't reach something, he screams, but only for a few seconds till he gets it or till I distract him, and its a real scream, no tears, or if its not screaming, its pretend crying....
Family have been noticing and even they think he's being cheeky, it's funny cause he's so young, but kinda not for me, I don't remember my nieces/nephews throwing tantys, not until they were toddlers, he's only 8 months!!!
Do all babies do this? Or is it just mine ohh boy, times to comes!!

    he sounds very cheecky!

i think its just his way of communicating and he has learnt it works and he gets a reaction or what he wants, i dont think its a sign off worse tantrums ahead although i personally have not experienced this with a baby

    goodluck

DD is a similar age- and doesn't do it to the extent you have explained but still started to do this a month or so ago.
If someone is holding her and she wants to get down she screams out- like you said not crying, no tears, it's more of a whingy cryout.

I think it is just their way of communicating, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe just explain to them what you think they want- "do you want your sippy cup" do you want this toy? do you want to get down?" and i'm sure within time they will start to use the words "down" "toy" "water" instead of screaming out.

F started having lay down toddler style tantrums at 8 months. I think it's sheer frustration at not being able to communicate. Along with a certain temperament.... He is getting better as ge being able communicate better and walk around to the things he wants. Mastering pointing has been great for us.

In my opinion some children are more determined to get what they want frin a young age. No1 and No. 3 are exactly lie they 2 and 4 are very placid and never cared if anything was taken from them. I think it is a trait that later in life will helpt hem out though they will never give up.
If you saw my 1 and 3 chuck a tantrum you will say' My kid is nothing compared to that'. I am have learnt to tune out it's all I can do. They eventually calm down.

My son is 10 months tomorrow..he does this as well and has been doing it for about the last month. He also gets frustrated when he tries to put the different shaped blocks in the correct hole and he cant do it. I think its just his way of communicating.

DS2 (almost 11months) does the same thing too. When his plate is empty or his sister climbs on him or takes a toy away - he screams in this high pitched squeal! I think he learnt it off his older brother as he is a screamer too!

I DO think personality plays a part in it too, as his twin sister has seen their older brother do the same thing, but she doesn't squeal!

I guess I never thought of it as his way of communicating. That makes sense, phew, I thought I was going to have a handfull. It's cute when he does it and I can't help but laugh, I do try and talk it out and say words, but he difanetely understands NO.
He's always trying to get to my laptop too and he's even broken keys on it. Then he will be at one end of me, looking the other way but walking closer, so he thinks I don't know what he's doing, then when he gets to it, he quickly turns and start banging his hands on it and he'll laugh while looking at me.... Cheeky monkey
