    wish Vic would do this

rego is one of the only bills they expect you to come up with a lunp sum for these days

just because you don't have a health care card does not mean you are made of cash

Just a note on the paying by the month car rego.

If you do decide to go for this option be careful to keep all your reciepts because when you get your renewal notice you will probably find that it is for the entire amount. You then need to prove that you have made payments throughout the year - don't rely on record keeping with QLD transport.

If you cannot show reciepts there is a good chance they will make you pay the entire amount again. I am sure this doesn't happen all the time but I know of someone personally that did have this happen - so much aggravation and ended up costing her so much more!

How do you get one of the cards??

I was always told rego had to be paid in the lump sum?

And do QLD transport give discounts for Health Care Card holders, or only Pension cards?

hi, you can pay it off it monthly installments, go and pick up a form either at the post office or QLD transport. this will help reduce stress and thats gotta be a plus.
its called "Queensland Vehicle Registration Planned Payment Card".
