Unhappy need help with my 8yo dog.

    Hi everyone
I need some opinions on what might be wrong with my female dog.
She is almost 8yo and lately at night time, when she comes over for a pat or just sitting on her bed she goes rigid staring at me and starts to hackle up on her back she doesn't growl at me though.

I have had her since she was 6 weeks old and she is very well trained, i just can't figure out why she is doing this, it's starting to scare me.
When she does it i just tell her to sit and she does then i walk away. it is only happening at night time and she is fine during the day and around DD, but it is really starting to worry me

Thats very strange. She doesnt have a sore back where you pat her?? The only other thing i can think of is paranormal.

eek! you just gave me chills! no she doesn't seem to be in any pain...i was thinking along the lines of doggy Alzheimer's or something, but maybe your onto something..but do you mean she can see a bad spirit or something or that she has one?? it makes me so sad, i love her so much and hate that she is acting like this

I am in no way an expert but i think it could be something to do with you, like you are feeling sad/angry ect and she is picking up on your aura, that or you have a spirit following you. I would maybe not pat her on her bed, she might be a bit possesive of it in her old age. I never thought of doggy alzeimers (sp?). I hope you get to the bottom of it soon. 8 isnt all that old (depending on breed)

there is no way I'd be preg, but there could be something hormonal going on maybe...that she can sense??

she's a staffy cross and has never been aggressive ever not even to strangers, it's really confusing and makes me feel really nervous when she does it cos it is so out of character..

the spirit thing could be true, this house i live in has always felt like something not so good is here..

usually if im upset or stressed she will give me a cuddle or just sook to me, but it feels like she is angry or something idk, but I'am a little frustrated and stressed at the moment so that might be it, i might ring the vet on my day off and see what they say..

Could you have a smell on you that is different? Dogs' dominant sense is smell.
