Seems a little wrong to do twitter etc on something like this? I can understand why she had one but to actually tweet it etc seems

A 27-year-old woman who gave a running commentary of her abortion on Twitter and YouTube says she is astonished by the backlash she has received.

Angie Jackson claimed she did it to "demystify" abortion. But opponents have been outraged by her decision to go public and by the graphic nature of her Tweets. One critic even compared her to a scorpion killing its young, Fox News reports.
The American woman discovered her pregnancy in time to take the abortion pill RU-486, which works by blocking the hormone progesterone.

Using the username antitheistangieshe began tweeting the results.

"Okay, the pain starting to get distracting," was followed by "Definitely bleeding now."

When watching a play she declared: "Had to change my pad at intermission." A short while later she tweeted: "Ugh. Puking. Antibiotics are making me sicker than misoprostol."

Ms Jackson also defended her decision while having her abortion on YouTube.

Ms Jackson, who lives in Tampa, Florida, with her boyfriend, already has a four-year-old son with special needs.

After a life-threatening first pregnancy, she was advised by doctors not to have any more children. When her contraception failed, she says she had to make a choice.

"I had made a decision when my son was born to try to not get pregnant again, and if that failed I'd planned I would get an abortion if I needed one," she said.

"My goal is to stay alive, and the best chance of that is to have an abortion.

"I don't feel like I'm doing anything different from what I do every day, but now I have people calling me a killer; it's surreal."

Angry responses on Twitter included:

xalisae: "Scorpion mothers will grab one of their children from their backs and eat it if she gets hungry. So u're @ the same level?"

mrsalbrecht: "With so many pregnancies that beat the odds, how can you be sure that killing your baby is absolutely necessary?

Ms Jackson maintains Tweeting was the only way for her to get the support she needed.

"Emotionally, for me, doing this in the open and having the support of my friends has made this immeasurably easier," she said.

She had an abortion to help protect her life - how is that wrong?

I think she's been brave in her decision to share it all, and it's nice that she's doing it for herself and for other women out there who have gone through/will go through a similar experience in their lives.

It's unfortunate she's copping such abuse though - I mean, it's been recommended to her so she doesn't risk her own life - surely there'd be a lot of people out there who would consider abortion under such circumstances?

I wouldn't do it myself I feel it would be too personal an experience but I agree she is brave to share the experience.

If you don't like what she is writing don't read her twitters.... how hard is it

I can see why she did it, but why so publicly on Twitter? And why is there a news story on it? I find it disturbing.

I hate the way people are condemned for putting something on their personal online account. If you don't like it then prehaps voyeristic sites like Twitter aren't for you!

Its very distasteful. She should of kept this private, but If this is her way of dealing with it, then so be it. But i have a feeling it wasn't so I think it was distasteful.

But what she done was not wrong at all and she shouldn't be called a murdered or a killer.

I also think that it could be very offensive and heartbreaking for those that are TTC and see she is documenting her abortion.
