looking for a fantastic Paed & or Dietician on the Gold Coast???

We are relocating to the Gold Coast next week (from melbourne) & its vital i find a really good paediatrician & dietician on the Gold Coast...
we will be on the northern end of the coast but am willing to travel for the right one..
can anyone recommend someone??

Your best bet wil be for your pead at royal melbounre to do a referal to Royal Queensland to the teams you are seeing in melbourne, That way it wil be a smoother transition.

How did you go with all the testing and stuff they was doing, have they shead any light on what going on?

I know you're moving to the GC, but FWIW, one of the best paeds we have come across is Aaron Easterbrook- he's based on the southside of Brisbane at the Mater Hospital and is amazing. PM me if you like and I'll give you his number.

I was talking to a friend in brisbane several months ago and he visits a gc paed... Its quite a travel so I assume they must be pretty good. He said this about it.

but saw a great paedetrician on the gold coast... she specialises in allergies etc... saw a few paed. before that but they were BAD BAD BAD ... waste of money. if u want to see a top DR her name is Velencia Soutter. Theres one better than her by the name of Pete Smith in the same clinic but the waiting list is about 8 months - we booked her to see him in April but have to wait until December !!!!

I too think Dr Aaron Easterbrook Mater Private Suites South Brisbane is just fantastic. I have four boys and one has to be seen often and he even calls to check on him ... Do not what ever you do go to a Dr Neville Davis in southport I cannot begin to tell you how he treated my son. Good luck!

Dr slaughter at the brissy RCH is the BEST pead we've ever met. i couldnt recomend him highly enough.

Hi MissMetal and welcome to the Coast!

I live in the northern end of the Coast as well and go to Pindara Private hospital as it is nice and close. The Paed we see is Dr David Pincus and he is great, really lovely too.

I'm pretty sure Pindara have dieticians as well (I remeber seeing itlisted on one of the signs)

Great paed Gold Coast? You have got to be kidding me to say Velencia Soutter...
Recent visit left me utterly astonished at just how average and inappropriate she was. Comments showing a personality entirely void of the impact of her varying statements, opinions and actions.
Seriously, I was shocked at her cowboy, 'care less' conduct. The comments on here I see are from 5 or 6 years ago so something has changed???
In between ;
-slamming our 'impulse' decision to have another child,
-a swipe at Jewish mothers,
- referring to people with 'borderline personality' disorders as 'psychos'
- answering emails on her iphone during the time I was talking to her
- nurse coming in and talking about other patients by name and things they are doing or needing to do during my consult
- a consult that was all over the place as far as start / middle / end goes, with no seeming process
- And then to top it all off I cant forget what was essentially an assault on my child by physically grabbing him without warning or consent and sticking a spray pump up his nose while her arm was wrapped around his neck (didnt ask me or tell him what she was going to do) - he was standing watching her IPad at the time....

I sit here tonight still stunned by this 'specialist's' behaviour, and solid reputation that seems to precede her.

I would be even more forthright in my appraisal of her capacity from a professional and mental status aspect, but I respect the fact that a moderator may not allow me to raise what I feel is a crucial point to warn others here.

If I were not as balanced and stable as I am, her comments, conduct and attitudes could cause some serious damage to people.
I imagine a mother trying to cope with challenges of having a child with problems etc (just as we do - and my wife did early on with all the curve balls of being a new mum), and coming across this 'Specialist' and getting slammed by her with a velvet sledge hammer with no insight at all into her outrageous behaviour.
Time to hang up the prick test kit Velencia....

I know this is an old thread, but wow... that's such an unfortunate name for a doctor, I'm sure it makes for good small talk though.
