Just wondering if any girls lived near here?
What hospitals are near by?
Good area to live in?
Thanks
Hey there
I live in bendigo, 1 1/2 away from echuca.
And i have family who lived there for all my life, i would go there every holidays.
This is my experience of Echcua.
For all of Echuca its a tourism town. The river with it's paddle steamers and wharf, and old time buildings. The southern 80 speed boat race. It is a big stop on the way to the Denny ute muster. And when the weather is good on the weekends the whole town fills up with river goers speed boaters, campers, fishers and day trippers.
Echuca is alive because of tourists. So there is always heaps of people packed in on the weekends and holidays. Sometimes it's like a circus. BUT then during the week its nice and quite.
My impression is echuca is for the bush nut. If you love camping. fishing. going out in the boat. going cray fishing in winter.
I have some cousins in school there now. all ages. And my thoughts are that if you are an involved parent then you will be able to get the best out of them. But my family are there sort to leave school at school. so not too certain on the school.
Hospitals. there is one there i have never been there though. All of my little cousins who ever had to have their tonsils out always came to Bendigo. Im not to sure on emergency situations. But i guess they would push you on to us here in Bendigo and then we would push onto Melbourne if the need was there.
Sometimes i think Echuca is ok but there are lots of people there who are need of lots of help. The commission area there is a lot worse then in bendigo.
There are lots of nice houses there. But my aunt only just found a house for rent after about 3 months of looking.
sorry to go on so much. if you have any questions just ask. I hope i haven't painted it in a bad light. it is a nice town. You just have to know what you want in your move and ask if it's in Echuca.
O and it gets hot there.

And even thought it is busy with tourists. The town has a slow pace when it gets back to normal. There IS a night life there. But it can get a bit hairy. as everyone comes from all over VIC to go camping and such, then goes out.
moama is nice. not as busy hardly any night life. not many people. and it is only across the bridge so it's like you live in echuca anyways. But with that you will have to eventually change over you license and car and every thing else that goes along with living in NSW>

hi,
just wondering how you went? i'm also movng to Echuca/Moama and am trying to find schools, kinda's, toddler and kids activities etc. I don't know where to even start, I have found a few things but have no idea if what I have found is any good because I'm doing all the searching from Melbourne. If you have moved and found a few good activities for the kids I'd really appreciate any info? My kids are 6, 4 and 10 months

Hi everyone
i have recently seperated from my husband and i am now applying through the courts to relocated to Echuca to live due to having my parents live in town, as i will be bringing a 4yr old and an almost 2yr old with me, i am just wondering if there is enough stuff for young children to do in town, i am looking at the St Mary's Catholic church playgroup as one option. can anyone also tell me what the council run preschools are like as James's name has been waitlisted for Echuca Central preschool for 2011, and his name is also down for Moama Anglican Grammer School starting in 2012. it is going to be a huge move for the 3 of us if we get to come down and apart from my parents, we know no one in town.
would love to hear from anyone in town![]()
