    Default Large Family Holidays

I don't know about you but I think large families also need a holiday! It is expensive & sometimes hard to find a place to accomodate large families. Any recommendations would be helpful.

We just went to a resort in Coolum, QLD. Had great facilities and a maximum of 7 people in a 3 bed apartment. PM me if you'd like the name. It was quite reasonably priced as well. Also know of a few places in Merimbula, NSW and Port Fairy, Vic.

But I agree, not very easy to find these places. I think when we have 6, holidays will not be a possibility at all.

We mostly go camping,as it is something we enjoy. Some of the caravan parks we have stayed at have been really great, with heaps for the kids to do,and it is very reasonably priced(if you camp there, not cabins)

If you look on stayz or similar, you can sometimes find a holiday house with bargain prices.

We rented a beach house in Marcoola QLD that was far too big for just the three of us, and I know there was a larger beach house than ours in the complex that I think slept 9.

Ours had three rooms and slept 6 but if you had your own sleeping bags or whatever there was oodles of space for extra. Right behind the sand dunes with a little path through to the beach. Spread over two levels there was a large family living area, fully equipped modern kitchen, free DVDs , 2 bathrooms, courtyard with BBQ and outdoor dining with large bi-fold doors. Jacuzzi on the rooftop terrace There was also an enormous pool in the complex. There are also villas 3&4 br, that have direct access to the pool but don't have direct beach access, these were slightly cheaper I think.

It wasn't cheap but I have noticed in off peak seasons they do deals where you stay 5 nights and only pay for three etc and that's what we did. We made it worth our while by really utilising the facilities there, and being on the beach we didn't spend any extra money on outings or entertainment. Plus, with the outdoor BBQ we just lived on fresh seafood and salads all week so saved money again by not eating out.

We loved it, one of our favourite holidays yet!

Look at holiday homes, you can get weekly rates that work out cheap when you work out how much pp when you have a big family! You can stay in a fully furnished 4 bedroom home if you choose to and some even cater for kids with toys, high chairs, etc.
