I have been seeing Dr Shingler at the Kingsway Medical Centre for years & I still go there even though I live in Mandurah now! She is wonderful & so are most of the other doctors at that practice.

Dr Shingler at Kingsway Medical Centre is a very nice lady. I've been to her a few times.

I asked my Community Child Health Nurse this very question about a good GP for little ones, and she recommended Dr Dawson or Dr Murphy, also at Kingsway Medical Centre. Apparently they both have a paediatric background and have worked at PMH at some stage? (So she told me.)

I recently went to Dr Dawson and he was a very lovely man. I will definitely go to him again.

The only drawback about either of these three doctors is that because Kingsway Medical Centre is quite a large practice (i.e. lots of waiting patients), I have always had to wait well over an hour - quite a task when you have two littlies to keep happy and quiet!

I would definitely recommend phoning to enquire if they on schedule before leaving home to attend your appointment.

It's hard to find a good family GP you are confident with for your kids - and then getting in to see them is another task! It seems you have to predict your kids will be sick a few days in advance! But at least with 3 good doctors at the same centre you have a decent chance of seeing one of them when you need them ...

I see Dr. Baker at Kinross Medical Centre on Buckingham Drive. He is absolutely great, never rushes you and is so helpful and informative. I feel really comfortable around him.

Paventia - just a little sneaky trick i learnt....

if u need to see a doc about your bub, just tell the receptionist when u call that you think they have an ear infection and they're in loads of pain. believe me, if they're a mother (which chances are pretty high) then they know what its like so they put it as Urgent and put you thru the next available time slot. could be the next day but still, its better than waiting 4-5 days!!!!
