    Hi there pdogsmum,
Quick question, after you submitted your claim did you go over the Safety Net Threshold? I paid my OB P&M fee yesterday and then went straight to Medicare to claim, I received exactly the same amount back as you did but was told that I did not go over the threshold because my invoice was dated Oct 2011 and that's when the service was provided. So even though I paid the full amount in the 2012 calendar year, Medicare stipulate that you only meet the threshold for the year the service was provided ie the date you receive the invoice from your obst.
It seems like a luck of the draw scenario to me. Woo hoo for the lady that goes into the practice at 22wks today, she gets her P&M fee and can go straight to medicare and go instantly over the threshold. Poor old me, received my fee in Oct 2011, thought it would be more beneficial to make the payment this year considering that my income will be lower and with a baby on the way more medical expenses could arise therefore handy to have Safety Net met this year rather than last.
Now I lose out on both years. Ho hum.... system sucks but I guess that's just the way it is.
