Cool slowcooker question -am i right or wrong?

    hi

have got a really silly question, and im pretty sure i already know the answer, but my DF has instilled fear into my head lol

i am cooking red wine beef casserole, its been on for a hour. i have it on low, for 8hrs,

can i leave the slow cooker on all day and can we go out? is it safe? or will it (according to my DF) catch on fire?? *chuckle*

i told him thats what they were invented for, so that u could put it on and then go do whatever (go to work for the day etc etc) & that they have no elements,`and our water cooler has more chance of catching on fire.

am i right? or is he? LOL
    thanks

Well i have before. When the timer is over, it just sets it to warm. Ive left it on before...

Although, i havent done it in summer when the room temperature has been alot hotter.

Yep, that's what they're for. I'm actually about to put beef and red wine casserole in the slow cooker myself
