Default Mum using free Maccas WiFi while her kids eat a carrot

The other day me and DP went to Maccas and he was very unimpressed by all the flies buzzing around and rubbish on the tables and he happened to comment on how there was even a half eaten carrot on the table behind me.

I thought he was mucking around but sure enough there was a huge half eaten, unpeeled horse carrot on this table, women on the next table was having a latte and using the free WiFi,

Anywho, a few momments later I turned and some kids were at the table eating this carrot, massive unpeeled horse carrot, and it was there mother who was enjoying her latte, using the free WiFi while making her kids eat a carrot in the middle of maccas.

Im all for eating healthy but it made me sad thinking about these kids eating a carrot while everyone else enjoys their greezy maccas, It would be torture for a kid to sit there watching everyone else enjoy there happy meals and all they have is a carrot.

At one point I heard the kids ask if they could play on the playground and the mum said "not until you have finished all your carrot"

I dont mind carrots, Id happily give my DD peeled carrot sticks in her lunch box. But this situation seemed cruel to me?

Im curious to what everyone else thinks?

It sounds kinda funny, like a odd humoured skit on a skit show.

I dunno... look... I think people could do far worse than feeding their child a carrot in maccas.

    It does sound unusual though!

I'd have probably just had a tiny bit of a giggle.

You never know, maybe the child LOVES carrots!

So more than one child was sharing an unpeeled carrot - that is just...i don't know
If you were going to give your children carrot wouldn't you at least peel it and cut it up - i would. Poor kids, i would have felt like an animal being forced to share a carrot like that.

It does seem a bit weird making kids eat a carrot at Maccas. Maybe they love carrots, maybe they had already had their chips and burgers or whathaveyou. And a few kids were sharing one carrot? Thats a bit odd. But I don't know their circumstances or anything so...

Skye loves carrots, she just goes in the fridge sometimes and helps herself to carrots, doesn't even want it peeled or cut or anything.

I get what you mean OP. She could have just got them a drink or a small chippies or something instead of making them sit there and smell everything and having a carrot to eat.

not till you eat your carrot!

poor kids...what an odd scenario. i would feel sorry for the kids that they weren't allowed to play...not so much about the food.
