Wink Adelaide - IVF to Baby bumps and babies

Just thought I'd start a thread for us Adelaide girls and boys (Paul), who have been successful in getting a much wanted pregnancy.

I am just over 17weeks and pregnant with identical twins, in case you didn't already know .

Next ultra sound is February 3rd, cant wait. Is morphology scan.

BYT - re your weight comments, can relate. I went shopping yesterday for some swimming shorts to wear to the beach and had no luck. I started ivf as a size 10-12, by cycle 14 I was a size 14. Now pregnant, I found myself trying on size 16 and still struggling to find things that fit. I do however, have better luck finding my size 14 in maternity clothing.... huge relief!! You will feel so much better for shopping for clothes that make you look the part. Normal clothing just makes us look fat and not pregnant. I would recommend you go out and buy a nice maternity outfit

    Hi NGU,

Wow, 17 weeks already! That's gone fast. Are you going to find out the babies gender? As for weight gain, I think I am the queen, already 17kg and I'm not quite 31 weeks! But I know I can lose it, AGAIN, lol!

My varicose veins are upsetting me, so ugly, and I have a horrid feeling they are going to stay. And they really hurt too.

Well I'm off to have a BT tomorrow, to check on those silly platelets of mine. I'll get my BP checked too, it has crept up. I just don't feel that great, hopefully it's just the hot weather.

Have you felt the babies move yet? I hope the ms isn't too bad.

Peachy, BYT, Paul, waiting, MG, Trying 1&2, liss, anyone else, come and join us. I would like to offer honesty and support for the next stages of our journey.

Take care, I'll let you know how tomorrow goes, I'm a bit nervous.

Thanks Kiwi . Wow, I think I'm more surprised to see your already 31 weeks! I can't wait to get to that stage. Re feeling bubbas moving, I have felt a couple of strange little sensations but haven't felt them now for a while. Expecting that as I should be noticing them more and more by 20 weeks.

Sorry to hear about your problem with varicose veins, I'm sure that problem will go away once you've had the baby.

For me my biggest complaint is back aches! Mainly at night, to the point of disrupting my sleep. I have since bought a u-pillow which seems to be helping a fair bit.

Thanks also for posting names of those who are pregnant from our mob in Adelaide, I had no idea there were so many of us! Also good to hear from those with bubbas, like MG and Dreams .

Dreams - a big huge congratulations on the birth of your beautiful daughter Emily Grace. Yes a little birdie told me , so exciting! Please come join us and tell us more!

Tip for those shopping for maternity clothes, Kmart have a good range of clothing! I went there yesterday and managed to find a couple of nice tops and a skirt. Didn't find to much at Pumpkin Patch and I have been told there are a couple of really nice places to shop on Unley Road, if your looking for a more dressy outfit. Might have to check it out myself!

Just googled it and found one of them on 278A Unley Road, Hyde park, is called Egg Maternity, You can see pictures of their clothing range via http://www.eggmaternity.com.au/. Is a little pricey but if your looking for something a bit dressier then this might be the place to try.

Another one one Unley Road is Baby Belly see: http://www.babybelly.com.au/Home/Home.asp

Antenatel classes - anyone booked there's yet? I am waiting to hear back from W&C's to book into their multiple births class.

Congrats Dreams, please come join us, when you get a spare second to yourself, of course.

NGU - I've had no backache this pregnancy, but I had terrible sciatica with DD and DS. As for bubs moving, all 3 have been after 20 weeks. This one has only really done major moving in the last 3-4 weeks, lazy me thinks! Target has a few okay things, I've tried to buy a few maternity tops that can be used for breast feeding.
Can't help you with the classes, I figure I've done this twice, although the memory is a bit foggy. That's good WCH do multiples classes, could turn out to be a good support network for you.
Are you having your babies at WCH? I am, I'm going public, and it has been great so far. I've been in 4 of the delivery suites already and stayed on the other wards. Everyone has been wonderful. The wait at the clinics are a bit annoying, but I've been on weekly visits since 11 weeks, so I done my fair share of waiting. I don't mind though, it's not like I'm juggling work.

Hi, sticking my head in quickly, had a really bad day. Lexi is doing well, its just me being a sook - my cat has been missing since Sunday and cos of all this strange weather I fear the worst. He never usually is out longer than 24 hours. Feeling a bit

NGU thanks for starting this, I contemplated doing it but wasnt sure if people would take it the wrong way. It will be nice to chat openly. Actually I started a thread in the birth groups looking for SA ppl who have bubbies around Lexis age - now Ive got you guys in here! And thanks Kiwi for letting me know where you guys are!!

Hi all - as you can see fomo my ticker i have a 7 month old baby boy - Mr Max, the result of 4 years TTC and 9 cycles of icsi.

I too have felt a little lost on the threads so i also post in IVF parents and adelaide art. It feels weird to have a young baby but seems we may be the veterans of the thread. We are stuck in limbo at the moment cause we are not currently TTC but will be soon!

Re: backpain - it doesnt go away once bubs arrives

Oh - harbourtown have the best maternity clothes shop --Maternity Girl. They make stuff you can wear during pregnancy and after - i still wear my tops now. They are really stretchy and gathered on the sides, really good for hitching up to BF. Also, Target have the best maternity singlets with built in BF bra, i wear them everyday alone if its hot or under tops to cover my tummy when BF in public.

Hope you all have a great day and if you need anything just ask

Noice idea to open this thread NGU.

Congrats to you if I haven't already said it. I followed you a bit to see how you were going, and was thrilled for you when found out about your pregnancy.

Kiwi - for your platelet levels. I'm sure all will be ok.

Waiting - for you and your cat. I hope he comes home soon.

    Peachy and LM

Dreams - hope to see you here.

Little Spencer joined us 9.5 weeks ago - (OMG time flies). He is rewarding us with smiles and giggles now, and chats away to himself n the bassinet in the morning.

Re maternity clothes, there is also a shop in city cross called Mother & Me which is ok. Apart from the shops mentioned before, I also shopped online. Queenbee.com.au was great and BabyBump and Beyond. I would also highly recommend a sleep bra for later. I didn't need it when I was pregnant as I didn't leak, but couldn't go without it now. I got it from Baby Bunting - lace feeding bra. You an also buy others online at Queen Bee, but I think they are more expensive.

Kiwi - best wishes for BT today, hope your platelet levels are where they should be and your BP is good too. Thank goodness for the cooler weather! Re your question, I had to fill out admission forms for Ashford (my chosen hospital) and WCH. My OB has advised that I will have a C-section (because twins share a placenta) at 37 weeks which will be at Ashford, however, if I need to have babies prematurely they will need to be delivered at W&C's. So actually due around the 27th May rather than 40weeks at 17 June Can't wait!

Waiting - sorry to hear your cat is missing. My sister lost their cat for 3 months before someone contacted the Animal Welfare group to say they had found it. My two 5 and 8 year old nieces were so excited to hear they had found their cat the oldest one actually cried when she found out. I'm sure your cat will turn up soon.

Re starting this thread, I have felt lost in the threads too, I was posting in general due in June section but it's just no the same.

Hi LulusMum - good to hear from you and hear that you had success with little Max. Sounds like you went through quite a few cycles before you were blessed with Max. Thanks for the tips re maternity clothing, I have actually been to Harbour town and got some great clothing from that place. It's now called Everyday girl as they didn't want to limit their market to just pregnant women so they changed the name. I must admit, I am very happy with the black pants, 3/4 black pants, 3/4 jeans and tops I got from there. Pretty much covers my main basis for maternity clothing and they are just so comfortable!

Oh MG, must be so special seeing those adorable smiles and giggles from your little Spencer. I seriously can't wait to experience those moments!

Wow, great to see so many of you here.

Waiting - Sorry to hear about your cat, I hope he shows up soon. My cat has been acting really strange in this heat.

MG - Gosh time is flying! I can't wait for those baby smiles and giggles, heart melting moments.

Lulusmum - Bummer you still have the back pain, it may ease when Max is older and you're not carrying him around as much. 7 mths is a fun age, enjoy.

Peachy - Hope you got some .

NGU - those babies don't make an appearance before 37 weeks.

    to any one I've missed.

afm - Platelet count is down to 43 000, we don't want it below 30 000. It is dropping between 5 -10 000 a week. I'm not looking forward to going back on prednisolone. But it needs to be at least 100 000 if I want an epidural. BP no change, phew! Back to WCH next Tues.
