As a straight woman who is an egg donor i did not want any more children so i encouraged my new husband who doesnt have any previous children to donate sperm. These are some of the things that we have come across that amazes me when it comes to others recieving donor sperm....

* women/couples who do not feel the need for a complete blood test from my hubby ruling out AIDS, HEP C & B etc.

* women who do not know if they are ovulating or rather know their body clock - some want sperm donation 5 days in a row and not even are sure if they are due to ovulate.

* having to remind couples to supply speciman cups and /or syringes ( for those that want sperm already in syringe).

* couples not giving us the 3-4 days notice prior to donating to make sure that as a couple we have not engaged in any sexual stuff ourselves. This ensures the couple get the optimum amount of sperm on the day.\

As a hetro couple we are doing something nice for couples who are getting something for nothing and we bend over backwards and yet still these issues arise with some couples. But in saying this, so far the couples that have gone on to have children have turned out the greatest mothers i have ever met.

I just get so frustrated sometimes as we even put off our anniversary dinner in order to donate.
