Default Hormonal Skin Breakouts During Pregnancy - HELP!

    Hi ,

I have terribly hormonal skin and am VERY prone to acne (On my face only, luckily).

I used to have bad breakouts just before my period before I was pregnant, but now that I am pregnant again, my skin is just horrendous!

I have sooooo many pimples and I am just feeling so horrible and down .

Before falling pregnant again I was using Pro-Active which was fabulous and definately worked for me, but as soon as I got that BFP I stopped using it due to the harsh chemicals.

I am just wondering what products others use during pregnancy that have the same problem???

I am a fan of Nutrimetics and was considering trying their 'Clear' Skincare range. Has anyone used this?

Or does anyone have any other product recommendations that have helped with their pregnany/hormonal acne???

    Thanks in advance .

I suffered severely since I was 17 with acne (now 27). All of my treatments I have to stop while trying and pregnant (pill, washes, and creames) because they may cause birth defects.

While not on the treatment I use Neutrogena Oil Free Wash and the Daily Black Head scrub, alternating them. Moisturiser I use there Oil Free UV one for sensitive skin (its still important to moisturise to replace the oil being stripped when washing, sounds strange but it helps balance the skin).

I have used the clear skin range before and not really a fan. The amount of different products I have used over the last 10 years and still prefer neutrogena when I cant use my medicated washes.

Unfortunetly usually pregnancy causes the skin to be really defiant. My first pg it tripled the problem but this pg for the first time in 10 years I have completely clear skin and I am loving it, my gp cannot believe how well its going, fingers crossed it stays after birth.

Ive jsut continued using what I was using, Nutrometics.. My face cleared up before I fell pregnant when I stopped using all make up.

I used to use proactive once and it did wonders.. will start doing that again.

But ive been told during Pregnancy the hormones will do that, and whilst BF also.

    Thanks ladies!

Nice to know I'm not alone!

bel04 - I think I'll try the Neutrogena gear before I spend $100 on the Nutrimetics! I used to use Neutrogena when I was a teenager and it wasn't too bad from memory. I like the idea of alternating a wash and a scrub, plus I am already using that exact moisturiser! I really like it - Thanks again!

I have been using a garnier (sp) combined cleanser and exfoliater then using whitehazel. Letting it dry then using just a simple moisturiser. It has worked brilliantly for me.
