    Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of studying Midwifery Next year but i had a few questions that no website can really answer, so i thought here might be a great way to talk to some people with more knowledge than I have. I have no doubt that Midwifery will be an awesome profession for myself to do. I just wanted to know what shifts are like in perth,WA. I know it varies a lot, but working night sifts isn't ideal for my lifestyle, is it possible to work daytime hours as a midwife? Or are night shifts compulsory?

I am hoping to study Bachelor of Midwifery, however the only uni's near me are Mackay and Townsville and both of them only offer the joint degree which I have no interest in. I have looked into other uni's that do offer it as a single degree but from what I have read none of them offer it externally and unfortunately moving to Brisbane etc is not an option for my family does anyone know if there ARE any uni's that offer it externally (I am in qld).

    TIA

    Hi Annabelley,

I'm applying to midwifery in 2015 as well. I'm nervous too as they only have 35 full time places! How are you applying? Are you a school leaver or doing another program?

    Good luck!

Lil miss I used to study midwifery (bachelor of midwifery not dual) at Griffith and we had many ladies from regional Qld. They had to attend intensives in Bris (Logan campus) and for Griffith to make arrangements with local hosp. Unless cqu has the only rights to your hosp.

I'm Applying mature age too! (22) Did you do a program through UC first like UC Prep or are you using your 'TER' from high school? Are you applying for part time?

I haven't handed my application in yet! I'm always paranoid the things i am talking about isn't what they would consider to be the 'most' important and it's hard with only half a page for each question! So nervous!
