    Angry Panadol

Can I just say how much I hate the new panadol siringe! The eye dropper was so simple - it was SO easy to do it all one-handed. With the siringe, you have to put the screaming/teething/in pain baby down, insert the stupid thing, which is not long enough therefore making it awkward, insert it right down into the bottle, and use two hands to get a measured dose. And then if you suck up too much or not enough (because you can't SEE what you're doing) you have to fart around with it to get the proper dose. Grrrrrrrr.

I HATE IT!! Bring back the dropper Panadol People!!

AH-HA!!! Now I know why it's been so hard for me - I didn't get a "bottle insert" in my box!! Check out the website: http://www.childrenspanadol.com.au. You're supposed to get a thingy that sits in the bottle top that the siringe fits on to and then tip the bottle upside down to get the dose.

Mmmmm... now I feel a bit stupid... I'm going to take my bottle back to the chemist and get another one with all the bits in it.

....still can't do it one handed though

(Apologies to the Panadol People for my little rant)

    Angry The Panadol Saga Continues...

And the saga continues..... we have just purchased another bottle of Children's Panadol.

This time, I didn't get the bottle insert, OR the siringe (ironically referred to as the "Easy Dose Device") OR a dropper. Just the bottle and some instructions on how to use the so called enclosed "easy dose device". So I trek back to the chemist to complain. They inform me that Panadol has stopped doing the bottle insert because they had so many complaints. (Gee I wonder why? ) So they offer me a siringe from a different bottle. "No thanks" I say - I'll be using the dropper that I got with my original bottle all those months ago. I've just finished filling in the feedback section in the Children's Panadol website. I wonder if I'll get a favourable response..... we'll keep you posted.

Unfortunately Eloise can't have Nurofen because she has a heart problem (murmur), so I guess we're stuck with Panadol.

    Default Yucky Taste

    Hi Boomtish

I know exactly what you mean about that silly syringe, I could never use it very well. I also don't think it helps that baby pandol is that putrid cherry flavour. I would be spitting it out every which way as well as the taste is disgusting. I found the amcal brand was a lot better as it was orange flavoured, my kids didn't mind that taste as much.

Fortunately now my littlest one can manage a medicine cup so it is goodbye to the syringe hopefully forever

    Hi all,

why don't you try a different brand of paracetamol, they are all the same drug and the generic chemist brands are usually a lot cheaper plus they give you a dropper (mind you I have never had any problems with a syringe one handed) or you could just buy a dropper from the chemist and keep it (just wash in hot soapy water).

Thanks guys - It didn't even occur to me that there might be a chemist brand version! I use Amcal brand everything for me - love it. Next time I'm up the street I'll definitely buy some!!

    Thanks again!

Rach you come across the funnyist things . We have Dymadon with the syringthingy and I too find it hard to manage with one hand I might just use the dropper I got with Harry's teething relief bottle that we have just finished. Thanks for the idea Rach and keep us posted on what Panadol say to you.

Well I received a reply from Panadol. It certainly clears up what happened!

    Dear Rachel

Thank you for your comments regarding our product, Children's Panadol Baby Drops. Unfortunately the bottle insert is no longer available with the Easy Dose Children's Panadol range, due to a possible hazard if not inserted into the lid of the bottle correctly. The droppers and the Easy Dose device are put into the boxes by hand and sometimes due to the speed the boxes are travelling on the line the odd box is missed. May I suggest you give the box a shake before leaving the pharmacy and if you don't hear cellophane rattling in the box you ask the pharmacy staff to replace it for you. The Colourfree Baby Drops come with both the Easy Dose Syringe and a dropper and the Original Baby Drops only come with the syringe, so you are free to choose either one. I have forwarded one of the Colourfree Drops with the dropper in the post to you, as compensation for the one you purchased without the syringe.

Once again thank you for your comments.

    Regards
    Kerry Starr
So if nothing else I'll get a free bottle WITH a dropper!

It shows that it is good to complain and it gives the manufacturer useful feedback. Good work Boomtish
