    Default Breastfeeding Nazi

I really really hate that term..what the heck is it meant to mean, anyway? (I know what people imply when they mean it....someone who will not accept anything other than breastfeeding)...But adding Nazi to the term is really quite defamatory. The Nazis thought it was fine to torture and murder a whole race, the practice of genocide. It isn't to be taken lightly.
I am sure I am going to get a whole load of posts of people telling me to lighten up, but this term really does upset me.
I think passionate breastfeeder (as we all should be) is more acceptable.

No different than in that episode of Seinfeld, the Soup Nazi

I have a friend call them nipple nazis. I think it's because she was being encouraged to do something she didn't want to do. Personally, when that happens in hospital, I think the health care provider is doing a good job, but that is the view of a passionate breast feeder, lactation lover.

    lighten up....

The word Nazi has become an acceptable phrase in the English language and bears no relevance to German Nazism.

Honestly, for a LONG time (like most of my highschool years) I thought a Nazi was a blonde hair blue eye person Because a boy used to call my friend one haha.

It's not a positive term. Breastfeeding is a positive activity, and everyone should be given that message, not a negative one (and I am not attacking anyone on the Hub here). I am thinking along the terms of hmmm, say in China recently where babies died from being fed milk tainted with melamine. The formula companies do not have babies' best interests at heart, putting poison in their food supply. But they are not being called formula nazis...I don't see where the difference applies.
