    Default Teething... Help!!!

Just wondering if this is normal...

My nine month old is currently teething and is snotty as all hell... to the point where I can tell its running down the back of her throat because she'll just sit there swallowing and is coughing like an old man... Is this normal?

She is completely miserable and I've tried everything, teething rings, teething relief, (not into bonjela or anything) and it has been recommended that we don't give her panadol or nurofen unless she has a temp over 39 due to medical reasons....

I really don't know what to do for her... she's been screaming all morning....

Anyone got any tips? and is this amount of mucous normal or do you think she's got a cold?

F always gets a snotty nose when teething, but not as bad as you describe. We use fess saline for the nose, really helps to clear it and can be used frequently because it is not medicated at all. Then I pick as much snot out as I can
Do you have an amber necklace? We use one and I am not convinced at all that it helps, but it makes me feel better.

I've tried the nasal aspirator... or snotsucka lol but she gets hysterical and wont let you near her... I think her little button must be sore because she wont let me wipe her nose or spray the stuff in...

I think she must have a bit of a cold too...

We do have an amber necklace and it seems to help a bit usually but not today

DD gets a snotty nose when she's teething too, it's not as bad as you describe tho, could she have a little cold? Have you tried the Brauers teething relief or Hylands teething tablets? They're both all natural and seem to help DD when she's teething.

Good luck, I hope your DD is back to her normal self soon.

Thanks for the advice ladies! She already has 2 teeth... this is her second lot of 2 coming through but this time seems to be MUCH worse... I think she must have a cold because I just gotout of the shower to find her asleep in her bouncer toy (the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen) with the music still going.... and she slept 2 hours longer than normal this morning too...

Narnia - I don't even have a link for you but try googling baltic amber teething necklace and you'll find them!

Its so hard that Im not meant to give her nurofen or panadol...

Might try giving her some nice cold yoghurt... thanks maybelline!
