Default Lazy or cought up to him?

We've noticed lately that DS is developmentally about 2 months BEHIND T & A with everything.

He rolls when he be bothered, has only JUST found his hands & woken up so to speak.

Im a little worried. Not sure if his just plain lazy or being a early bird has caught up to him.

I am stressing similarly atm. I think it is because we have multiple prems. We watch them for milestones and when one trails behind a little paranoia sets in.

I have had to stop comparing the bubs to one another and start focusing in what they CAN do.

DD does not roll but is shooting ahead with her fine motor skills and giggles and smiles all the time.

DS rolls over almost constantly and is REALLY talkative and makes sounds like hello whenever you talk to him. DS though is still getting the hang of those things called hands and fingers.

I have noticed they are also swapping whi is ahead. One will shoot ahead then the other will and then back again.

What has the Physio said about him?

Physio, OT & speech said his fine & come back in march when we see the Pead.

I know i shouldnt compare but its hard when the Girl power on. The lack of things he'll put in his mouth is my main issue.

I don't think it is being lazy. Some children just develop at different rates. Your DD's seem to be rolling quite early and so naturally you compare.

My DD was also a prem and she started rolling at 6 and a half months corrected and has only just started crawling at 81/2 months corrected. I look back at DS's development and I feel like DD is behind but then I remember that they are two different people and will do things differently.

I would just wait and see about DS's developmental milestones, he may be on the later edge of the spectrum.

I kno total different but my friend had twin at 30 weeks n the boy was always behind they now nearly 3 n r equal when it come to development n speach... if that helps even tho i kno total differnt things,,, and i mean lachie was only one baby n he has everything wrong well not everything but u kno not walking due to CP not talkin due to BiLat Deaf.. Im sure he will b fine but i understand ur concern... DONT FORGET TO SMILE....

Boys can be a little slower off the mark - I know this is a generalisation and there are always exceptions. But from my teaching experience this seems to be the case.

Before I knew anything about babies I always heard the same thing from parents/aunts etc. So they must have noticed it with their kids and said it? I heard boys talk later aswell?

Now if I remember correctly, your DS suffered pretty bad with reflux, didn't he?

I found with my DS2, who suffered from reflux, didn't want to put anything in his mouth (including most food) until he was 9 months old. I had a feeling that it was because he linked his mouth and throat to pain.

I could be way off the mark but it is something to consider.

Girls are very much ahead for everything. I think his just taking his time.

I know, Trip's are in a study with HMRI. I keep track of everything because of the study.

His reflux is really bad & affects his breathing. We thought we were in the clear but apparently not.

ETA - Im going to sit on it & wait till March, if his not reaching milestones ill speak to Physio, OT & Speech.
