Default Hamper ideas for baby present

Just hoping to get some ideas on what to put in a baby hamper. It's for my DH's boss! I just love the idea of buying lots of little things....

A little pack of baby nail clippers, baby nail scissors, baby hair brush and baby hair comb.

    Muslin wraps.

    Nappies.

    Nappy sacks.

My friend put one together one of those nappy cakes herself for me.

I did one for my cousin not long ago. I put in baby bath, bepanthan cream, booties, a couple of snappies, massage oil, and some really nice bubble bath for her. There was other stuff but I can't remember them now oh those gel teething rings and an outfit too.

the best things i recieved as presents in a basket included:-

a mini bottle of champas and a little box of chocolates
    muslin wraps
baby nail clippers (as PP said)
    baby face washers
    baby soaps/lotions/oils
    baby singlets
bibs (these came in handy 4 months down the track!)

in regards to the nappy cake - i received a nappy cake (and i really dont want to come across as ungrateful here at all) but the nappies were a different brand to what I had preferred and becuase they were all newborn size, and i already had 6 boxes of newborn (yes overprepared) and then my man was in 'infant' after 2 weeks! I had to give the nappy cake away - bit the cake did get used after my friend passed it on to another friend haha

    i looove buying baby presents

Like others have said, creams and lotions, baby massage oil etc, but I recommend you suss out what kind of stuff she likes first, I got heaps of Johnson and Johnson and Curash stuff and would've preferred something with less fragrance or organic etc...

some face washers, baby rattles/toys, board books, a nice towel, some wraps/blanket, nice things like that...

And of course something nice for mum, maybe some nice creams or oils for her post-baby tummy, or for sore nipples (if she's planning on BF) and some chocolates to eat in hospital.

At my baby shower my friend gave me two little boxes
One was full of useful little things for bub, I can't even remember what was in there but I know I used them all
The other small box had things for me in hospital, mini bottle of shampoo and conditioner, mini toothpaste, mini deodarant, chocolates, lasinoh...
That's the gift that I loved the most because it took alot of the hassle out of packing my hospital bag, I just threw all the mini things in it

I'd check oiut what their "Style" is first. A basket full of Johnson & Johnson products, pacifiers and throw-away nappies is not something I would have appreciated. A small keepsake teddy, wooden rattle, and perhaps a Mem Fox book would be more my style.
