    Red face Early labour???

I have little over 4 weeks remaining for this pregnancy.
With both girls I was induced and never felt a thing until that day of labour.

This time around I think it's differant. I have had a show ( or what I think is one ), been getting constipated, ALOT of pelvic pain, lower tummy pains on frequent ccasions throughout the day.

From what I have read on here and from what friends have told me in the past this sounds like early labour signs.. Please correct me if I am wrong

Should I be concerned? Should I call the hospital?
For now I do want to avoid going into hospital unless absolutly needed as DP and I have a 2.5 and 18 month old here and the hospital is little over a drive away and don't want to take them out unless needed.

Is your pain regular?? And how long does it last?
I would try going for a shower or going to sleep and see if the pain dies down.
I didnt have anything like you are describing but my early labour was weird.
If you are feeling worried ring the midwives and see what they say.
I hope it all works out Good Luck

    Hi Indigo,
thankyou for your reply. The pains have been on and off the last 48hrs or so but the pevic pain was horrendace* when I woke up thi morning took about 1hr just to get out of bed
With the lower tummy pains, they are sometimes one after another and other times hours apart but they are lasting about 20-30 seconds each and they feel like stron period pains.

it does sounds like prelabour symptoms however these can last for quite some time (some times a couple of weeks) - i would ring the hospital and speak to a midwife and see what they say but unless your waters have broken or the contractions become more frequent and regular they'll probably advise that you stay put

a friend of mine prelaboured and sat at 3cm dialated for several weeks before bub was born and with my first it was several days of prelabour before anything was established

hope this helps and wish you luck with the safe arrival of bub soon

I had Irritable Uterus from 33wks onwards so i had contractions every 5min, this lasted for 8wks, my actual labour felt exactly the same but started at 20min contractions.

I would definitely ring your middie if you feel you cant concentrate on anything while you are getting pain, ie you cant talk to someone while it hurts. My friend was also 1cm dilated for 6wks. And shows can regenerate, my friend lost hers at 35wks and again at 38wks
