    Question Fibroids??

    i have just come from my midwife who is sending me to see another dr cause they have found fibriods in my uterus . . . She said it is nothing to be concerned about at the moment but i am slighty worried

    just wondering if anyone else has had fibroids? and did it effect your pregnancy??

    They found 2 in my uterus when I was about 28 weeks pregnant and I still have them. They were harmless though. It's quite common for women to have them and not even know, they can get quite big and cause discomfort though. I'm sure it will be fine.

    My sister had one that eventually grew to take up her entire uterus. They told her it was like she was 3 months pregnant. She suffered really heavy AF and alot of pain at that time of the month. Because of the size of it she obviously had trouble concieving and had to have it surgically removed, she was told she would have no trouble concieving in the future. I have also heard that you can have small fibroids that are rarely of much concern and do not even have to be removed apparently they are quite comman. HTH

    i have a small one... 2cm... caused no probs in pregnancy i only know about it from ultrasounds

    They have found 3 firbriods during my routine 20 week ultra sound and i have been refered to another doctor (because i am giving birth at a birthing centre with a Midwife) i guess they need a second opinion

    i am just a little worried but hearing about your experience has made me feel a little better

    just have to wait and see
