Default Convolsions during Induction?? is this normal??

Just wanted to see if this was normal or not??
I had a very traumatic Induction & I cant get it off my mind ever since i had DS...
When I was induced I remeber going through a stage of having a rather long, fit like convolsing stage (mind you i had 3 lots of double strength prostein, before the drip was hooked up) and it was seriously like i was posessed, i had no control over my body.... I can honestly say i thought i was dying...
Is this normal or did i have a reaction to it?? or was it just to much for me to handle as i did the whole thing drug free??
    anyone experienced this???

That does NOT sound normal at all! I'm sorry you had such a traumatic time.

I have never heard of that before.

Do you think maybe it could have been an allergic reaction to the drugs used. It sounds a bit like it.

That doesn't sound normal. But I always shiver uncontrollably near transition. I had an epidural last time and stlil shivered but kept control by breathing deeply etc (wasn't from the epidural)

Ask to see your medical records, and get an appointment with a midwife or other medical professional at the hospital to go through your records and explain anything you are not clear on. It can really help.

Absolutely not normal. I am sorry for your experience

Have you got a copy of your notes from the hospital? Check to see at what time the gels were applied and how close they started the drip.

I would then be asking for an appointment to go through the notes with either a Senior Midwife or Obstetrician - I would want assurance that subsequent births are managed better than this one.
